THE TRUE SHERNI — STILL STANDING, STILL FIGHTING.

I have always been an admirer of Dr. Yasmin Rashid. I had heard so many courageous stories about her from my father, who was the Health Care Administrator of Punjab at the time when she was serving as President of the Pakistan Medical Association. She always stood up for the rights of doctors and fearlessly fought for what she believed was right.
When she joined PTI, I was so happy that a woman of her caliber and courage was now part of our party.

I met her several times at PTI events and at her clinic, and over time, she became a role model for me because of her strong commitment to her principles.

After her arrest, I met her at Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore. Salam to the courage of this strong woman who, at 73 years of age, is still standing tall and fighting for what she believes is right.

She said to me, “My conscience is clear. I didn’t do anything wrong, and I won’t yield or bend. I’m 73 years old. At the most, they can kill me, or I will die someday, but I don’t regret any of my actions. I used my constitutional right to peaceful protest, and I even tried to calm down the mob when I saw something suspicious.”

She was in high spirits. Throughout my 30 minute meeting with her, I saw complete composure, satisfaction, and a smile on her face. Despite having chronic illnesses that require regular visits to doctors and hospitals, she remained firm and stood her ground.

When I went to Lahore for her election campaign, I met her again at the Anti Terrorist Court(ATC). I saw the same composure, determination, and smile on her face. She sat with me for some time and said, “Beta, aap pareshan kyun hain? InshaAllah election mein hamari jeet hogi. Bas logon se kahen ke badi tadaad mein bahar niklein aur vote dein. Jitni marzi rigging kar lein InshaAllah jeet hamari hai.”

Ahh… neither that sherni nor any of us knew how far they could go in injustice and in crushing people’s rights.
The Iron Lady, who won by a landslide, kept waiting for justice from the system.

Now, I want to meet her again—not because I have anything to say, but simply to apologize. I feel ashamed that I couldn’t do anything for her, for the injustice she has faced. I wish I could look her in the eyes and tell her that while we may have failed to protect you, your courage, your sacrifices, and your unwavering stand will never be forgotten.

Dr Yasmin Rashid, you were and you still are, my role model. InshaAllah your sacrifices will not go to waste.

Salam to your courage and commitment. You are not just an asset to PTI but to the whole nation. You have always served the people, and it is our loss that heroes like you are behind bars.

Even while in jail, you continue to help people by checking on female patients and advising them.

Dr. Yasmin Rashid, people voted for you, and you are the actual winner. We are proud of you. In fact, all of Pakistan is proud of you. ❤️

May Allah ease your sufferings, give you strength, and grant you justice. 🙏

Serious doubts arise from the latest medical report submitted to the Supreme Court on Imran Khan’s health. It is criminal to treat a former prime minister with such callousness and ignore his deteriorating health. We demand his immediate transfer to Shifa hospital and access to his personal physicians and family.

It WILL create the necessary pressure on this Govt (who is in power by stealing Imran Khan’s mandate) to get Imran Khan treated at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad.

It is an urgent and necessary pressure for Dogar court to take up Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s bail applications and set them FREE.

Police usually arrests Imran Khan’s supporters; not the family or elected members. We appeal to Imran Khan’s supporters (who are not office holders) NOT to come to Adiala today.

We respectfully urge UN experts @UNHumanRights to issue strong, urgent recommendations on Pakistan's Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s solitary confinement, arbitrary detention, and blindness caused by neglect. Since we presented this case to the UN in Geneva on 21st April, Imran Khan has again been taken to hospital not long after midnight yesterday without his family being informed. Contrary to official claims, witnesses describe him as weak and suffering untreated dental pain. This man and his wife are being isolated to death. A country's real image is formed with its integrity, dignity, sovereignty, and courage, and not just by superficial stuff. Iran is a recent example of this.
If you think that Pakistan played a positive role in resolving issues between the two warring countries and, as a Pakistani, you take pride in that well it's fair enough. Any action that improves the image of your country makes you feel good. To me, there's a difference between being a real mediator vs being one's master's voice.But this is beside the point here.
Taking pride in solving external matters is less important than solving our own internal issues. It's like your own house is on fire and you're extinguishing others'. Neglecting important major house issues can’t be compensated by helping others in their matters. This is temporary, short-term respect that the world forgets in days.
In a regime where people have no right to speak freely, no right to protest against a stolen mandate, where a special kid is punished to death for showing love for his favorite leader, where peaceful protesters are shot in the face, where the most favored leader is thrown in jail on fake cases and the courts are helpless to prove any relief n worse, he is denied basic health facilities, human rights are violated left and right, and no one cares.
All these things also make or break the image of our country. If we take pride in certain things then we should also feel responsible for so many wrong things too. We should also notice and raise our voice against these. Pakistan is our country, and we take pride in anything that enhances its image. In the recent India-Pakistan war, I openly supported and praised the forces of Pakistan and faced some criticism from my fellow PTI supporters, but I stood my ground because I believe the military belongs to our borders and they did their job.
External events cannot be used as a mask to cover internal issues. The real image gets better when real issues are addressed. When we are internally strong and sovereign, the world will respect us more.

Overseas Pakistanis need to play their role after the impassioned plea by Imran Khan’s sisters. It is not about the eye anymore, it is about his life.
International pressure from all countries has to be increased in the form of protests, petitions to international organizations, engagement with media, and dialogue with local leadership.

PTI Dallas observed a black day on February 8, because our mandate and right were stolen on this day 2 years ago. The people of Pakistan used their votes as a weapon against injustice and oppression, but those thieves and their allies stole it, affecting not only Pakistanis but also the overseas Pakistanis who cast their votes. PTI supporters attended the protest and expressed their emotions.

As Coordinator of PTI Dallas, I, along with Dr. Nasrullah Khan, Kazi Latif, Shoaib Khan, Imtiaz Rahi of APPAC, Ghulam Jangra, Dr. Sarfraz Khan, former president of PSNT Anjum Anwar, Yasir Chaudhry n others addressed the gathering. The speakers reiterated their commitment to continue the struggle and fight until human rights violations end, Imran Khan is released from fake cases, and the dummy government is replaced by the true representative of the people of Pakistan. Congressional candidate Mark Newgen, a Republican, and Justice of the Peace candidate Sofia Anwar, a Democrat, also attended the event and assured that they will work for the release of Imran Khan.
