It’s understandable- the press spends weeks whipping up an unbelievable amount of pressure on players to succeed and then turns on them the second we’re out. No one ever seems satisfied with, “we just weren’t as good as the other team”.

@pfau @lionel_trolling I wouldn’t say we’re suspicious of comfort. A staple British comfort meal is beans on toast- comfort being derived from the way it makes you feel not the meal itself necessarily. Quick, cheap, simple but personal and homely. Maybe we never did recover from either war.
