This is the face of a teenager seriously injured in today's attack by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, the student wing of the ruling BNP, on NCP leaders in Habiganj.
This is not an isolated incident. Shopkeepers, small entrepreneurs, and business owners across the country have also become targets of violence by the same organisation.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, public confidence is not built through public relations. It is built through accountability and justice.

NCP Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam, along with Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Chief Organizer Sarjis Alam, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary, Joint Convener Dr. Atiq Mujahid, and other senior leaders, visited the grave of Shaheed Abu Sayed in Pirganj, Rangpur on July Martyrs' Day.
Nahid Islam described Abu Sayed as "the imam of our martyrs and the spiritual leadership of the July Revolution." He recalled how Abu Sayed stood with arms spread wide against Hasina's repression and embraced martyrdom, igniting the journey from movement to uprising to revolution.
He paid tribute to all the martyrs, including Mugdho, Wasim, Farhan Faiyaz, Naima Sultana, Riya Gope, and Hridoy Chandra Tarua, and to the thousands injured and the people from every walk of life who joined the movement.
He stressed that remembrance alone is not enough. The responsibility now is to build the new, just, and discrimination-free Bangladesh the martyrs died for. He noted that while elections have taken place, justice and reform remain unfulfilled. He demanded swift execution of the verdict in the Abu Sayed case and called on the government to bring Sheikh Hasina back to Bangladesh to carry out her sentence.
The leaders also met with members of Abu Sayed's family. 🇧🇩

NCP Diaspora Alliance USA expresses profound sorrow at the passing of Dr. Aditi Saha Ononna, a young Bangladeshi physician who lost her life in a road accident in Chicago.
A graduate of ZH Sikder Medical College and a successful USMLE candidate, Dr. Aditi had begun her Internal Medicine residency in the United States on 1 July of this year. She was the only child of Mr. Babul Saha of Sarail Upazila, Brahmanbaria.
Her passing, only weeks into the career she had worked so long to build, is a loss felt deeply by her family, her colleagues, and the wider Bangladeshi community in America.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to all who knew and loved her.

July 20, 2024. Texas State Capitol, Austin.
While Bangladesh was in darkness, its internet cut and its streets under curfew, Bangladeshis from across Texas and neighbouring states gathered on the Capitol steps.
They came because families back home could not call. Because a government was killing its own children and hoping no one outside would notice.
Two years on, we remember every Bangladeshi in America who refused to stay silent. 🇧🇩🇺🇸

NCP Diaspora Alliance USA strongly condemns the attack on the convoy of NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary and Chief Organizer Sarjis Alam during the July March in Habiganj.
Local BNP activists carried out the assault in the presence of police, leaving journalists and NCP members injured. NCP's media team vehicle was taken inside the Habiganj District Circuit House and vandalised there. Mobile phones and cameras were looted.
That such an act was carried out within the premises of a state institution, and under police watch, raises serious questions about the safety of political workers and journalists in Bangladesh.
We demand a prompt, transparent investigation and full accountability for those responsible.

Bangladesh have beaten Australia by nine wickets in the first Test in Darwin.
This is Bangladesh's first Test victory over Australia on Australian soil, achieved on their first tour there in 23 years.
A historic result. Congratulations to the Tigers.

July 18, 2024. BRAC University student resistance.
After public university halls were forcibly vacated, private university students stepped forward to carry the movement.
From early morning, BRAC University students gathered in front of their campus. Police chased them inside and fired rubber bullets within the campus grounds. The students pushed back and forced the police into retreat. Students from other universities soon joined them.
Private universities reignited a movement the state had tried to extinguish. Another nail in the coffin of Sheikh Hasina's rule. 🇧🇩

July 19, 2024. The deadliest day of the July Uprising.
66 people killed in a single day. Sheikh Hasina imposed a nationwide curfew and deployed the army onto the streets of Bangladesh.
The internet was shut down. The world was cut off. And still, the people did not go home.
Seventeen days later, she fled the country. 🇧🇩

July 18, 2024. Private University Resistance Day.
After public university halls were forcibly vacated, the state believed the movement had been broken. Private university students proved them wrong.
At BRAC University, students gathered from early morning. Police chased them onto campus and fired rubber bullets inside university grounds. The students pushed back. The police retreated.
At Canadian University of Bangladesh, at UIU, at NSU, at Daffodil, at IUB, at AIUB, at Southeast and across Dhaka, students who had never protested before poured into the streets.
They reignited a movement the state had tried to extinguish. It was another nail in the coffin of Sheikh Hasina's rule.
Two years on, we remember their resistance, their courage, and their sacrifice. 🇧🇩
