Nope. Alabama didn’t deserve to be in, nor did Oklahoma.
Miami and Notre Dame are both top 5 teams in the country. The either/or dilemma was fake bullshit.
I’m happy for Miami tonight. Looking forward to November 2026.
@CoachD178 I think Yormark is overplaying his hand here. He knows this a battle for control in the future of cfb, either conference commissioners or college athletic directors.
Just look at the fines to K-state and I-state, this is a shut up and do what you’re told type message.
@rationalNDfan Personally, I don’t recall any good will. I’ve heard the same people making the same dumb comments about Notre Dame last year in the cfp run as this year with the snub
@rationalNDfan, thoughts on the ACC partnership?
If I’m Bevacqua, I’m gonna remember for a long time how the conference I’ve propped up in football (and a member in most sports) actively campaigned to hurt this school.
Conference championship games have lost all meaning in this sport.
They used to be the “championship game” that teams could play in. Then in the BCS era it was a means to bump your conference into the top 2 teams. Now they’re just about television revenue.
Sad.
I’m old enough to remember the argument for Alabama over FSU in 2023 being about FSU limping to the finish line (while winning) and wanting to pick teams that were the “best” now.
But a blowout loss yesterday apparently didn’t matter.
Last week Hunter Yurachek said Notre Dame and Alabama was *the* debate within the committee. Said some committee members still had Notre Dame ahead of Alabama *before* the SEC title game.
Today? Who knows?
Rece Davis fails to ask Yurachek on the broadcast about it.
Alright so apparently BYU’s wins and losses affect how good Notre Dame and Miami are.
This will be good for me to know for next year so I can keep tabs on how good Notre Dame is based on how BYU is doing.
BYU loses - They must be dropped! What an embarrassment!
ALA loses - No! It doesn’t matter! They can’t do any wrong!
Therefore ND must be punished! What!?
Notre Dame’s slate for 2025. Georgia would go 12-0 with this schedule.
@ Miami (FL)
Texas A&M
Purdue
@ Arkansas
Boise State
NC State
USC
@ Boston College
Navy
@ Pitt
Syracuse
@ Stanford
It’s time to MAKE NOTRE DAME JOIN A CONFERENCE to participate in the playoffs.
@rationalNDfan@PlanetFitness Having known @rationalNDfan for a little over a month now, I can confidently say there is no way this is true. Must easily have been over 20 times
To Riley Leonard:
Thank you for the best Notre Dame season in my lifetime. I’ve never seen a better representation of a Notre Dame man, and to do it all in just one year…
We all wish nothing but the best for your future.
Just keep digging.
