A father stole milk because his baby was hungry. The police responded with kindness.

In Tabuk City Philippines a man who had recently lost both his job and his wife was apprehended while attempting to take a box of infant formula for his two month old child.

Store employees escorted him to the police station. Upon hearing his circumstances the officers decided to show compassion rather than pursue charges.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Jack Angog personally covered the cost of the milk released the father without penalty and assisted him in searching for employment to prevent future hardship.

What began as an act of theft evolved into a powerful example of humanity. It served as a reminder that some errors stem from desperate efforts to provide for loved ones.

In certain situations justice means extending mercy rather than imposing punishment.

The 67-year-old Hearn was arrested last month and indicted by a grand jury (an incredibly easy hurdle to clear). Prosecutors absurdly accused him of "forcefully and violently” tearing up the pool's liner and damaging the sealant. The accusation came as Trump was desperately trying to insist that the hilariously botched renovations were the result of leftist vandals and not the natural consequence of hiring incompetent, crooked contractors to perform the work.

This prosecution is a waste of our time, tax dollars, and a blatant abuse of federal power to help a failed President save face.

"Davey Hearn would never desecrate a federal building or landmark by writing his name on it or affixing his name illegally to it or engaging in any other kind of political graffiti, vandalism or delinquency,” Raskin continued, clearly referring to Trump’s actions. “He would never intentionally damage government property. Whether we are talking about the White House, the Reflecting Pool or the Kennedy Center, Davey would never try to alter, bulldoze or redesign federal property or buildings without explicit Congressional authorization and direction.”

“Davey is an honorable and law-abiding citizen who has won real giant prizes, including eight world championships,” Raskin added. “He did so without any corrupt practices and only through his magnificent hard work and surpassing dedication to the team. He would never try to undercut or sabotage anyone, much less our entire community.”

If he’s found guilty in this ludicrous legal saga, Hearn could face up to 10 years in prison, an absolutely vile miscarriage of justice as Trump, a pedophiliac, war criminal felon continues to walk free.

Before the city fell, he helped evacuate hundreds of artefacts to safety. ISIS interrogated him for weeks to find them. But he gave them nothing.

They executed him in the square and left his body among the columns he had spent his life defending.

Archaeology is not a soft profession. Sometimes the people who guard the past die for it.

In April 1967, a 20-year-old farm boy from South Dakota did something that would change the Vietnam War—he fell off his ship.
Seaman Douglas Hegdahl was standing on the deck of the USS Canberra when the recoil from a five-inch gun knocked him overboard into the Gulf of Tonkin. He treaded water for five hours, then swam for seven more. When fishermen finally pulled him from the sea, they handed him to North Vietnamese forces.
The interrogators didn't believe his story. They thought he was a spy, a commando, someone important. They beat him and threw him into the Hanoi Hilton—the most notorious prison of the war.
But Hegdahl made a choice that would save hundreds of lives. He became "The Incredibly Stupid One."
He played up his country accent. He stared wide-eyed at things he'd never seen before. When they ordered him to write a confession, he claimed he couldn't read or write. The guards, used to illiterate peasants in their own country, believed him completely. They even assigned someone to teach him—who eventually gave up, convinced Hegdahl was hopeless.
What they didn't know was that Hegdahl had a photographic memory and the discipline of a soldier.
Because they thought he was harmless, the guards let him sweep the prison yards. He walked between cellblocks. He memorized the layout of the camp and the route into Hanoi. He even sabotaged enemy trucks by adding dirt to their fuel tanks.
But his real mission was gathering intelligence.
With the help of fellow prisoner Joe Crecca, Hegdahl set out to memorize something impossible: the names, ranks, Social Security numbers, and personal details of over 250 fellow American prisoners. How do you remember 250 names under torture, starvation, and the constant threat of death?
He used "Old MacDonald Had a Farm."
Every day, Hegdahl repeated the names to the tune of the children's song. Over and over. Names became melodies. Data became memory. While the guards laughed at the "stupid" American humming in the prison yard, he was conducting one of the most important intelligence operations of the war.
When North Vietnam offered early release as a propaganda tool, Hegdahl initially refused—prisoners had sworn an oath to leave together or not at all. But his commanding officer, Captain Dick Stratton, ordered him to go. "You're carrying the names," Stratton told him. "Their families need to know they're alive."
On August 5, 1969, Hegdahl walked out of the Hanoi Hilton.
When he returned to the United States, he recited every single name. Every rank. Every identifying detail. His memory transformed 250+ missing men into confirmed prisoners of war. At the Paris Peace Talks in 1970, he confronted North Vietnamese negotiators with firsthand accounts of torture—and the pressure he brought helped secure the eventual release of all American POWs.
That farm boy who "fell off a ship" had just freed an entire army.
Decades later, in 1998, Hegdahl stood before an audience of veterans and families at the Richard Nixon Library. Thirty years after his release, he stood and sang—to the tune of "Old MacDonald Had a Farm"—the names of 256 men he'd memorized in captivity.
Not one name forgotten.
Sometimes the most dangerous people are the ones your enemy thinks are harmless. Sometimes genius wears the mask of stupidity. And sometimes, a child's lullaby becomes the most powerful weapon of all.

November 9, 2004, Second Battle of Fallujah. A Marine was hit by enemy sniper fire and went down in the open. Gunnery Sgt. Ryan P. Shane had been an infantryman since he was 18, and when he saw his brother fall, there was only one decision to make.

He sprinted to save his brother, rounds sparking off the pavement around him as he ran straight toward the downed Marine. Shane grabbed him by the collar and started dragging him toward cover, while the sniper kept firing. Then Shane went down too.
The radio erupted with calls of "men down." The Marines unleashed everything they had on the sniper's position and rushed out to pull both men to safety. Shane was severely wounded but survived.

Despite his brother's efforts, Lonny, the Marine Shane had run out to save, unfortunately didn't make it.

Bondi previously worked for the Ballard Partners firm which raked in $115,000 a month by lobbying on behalf of Qatar.

"A Turkish proverb says 'When a clown settles in a palace, he does not become king, it is the palace that becomes a circus," said Malhuret. "His fine team has decided to create a competitor to the UN. Since the creation of the Board of Peace, Trump has triggered more military strikes than Biden during his entire term."

This is how the world now sees the American president: as a pedophile desperately exploiting his role as commander-in-chief to obscure the fact that he preyed on children with his long-time pal Jeffrey Epstein.

A Boeing plane offered by Qatar," he said, referring to the $400 million jet that Qatar "gifted" to Trump. "Investment in all Gulf projects or elsewhere. "Any one of these conflicts of interest would have caused an immediate procedure of impeachment here," Malhuret. "But we are not here. We are in MAGA's America where public business is conducted in favor of private interests."

Rarely have we heard such an exhaustive yet succinct distillation of the Trump administration's rampant criminality and incompetence. By focusing on individual Cabinet members and what makes them uniquely unfit for office and then expanding the aperture to the broader patterns of corruption and malignancy, Malhuret delivered a master class in political messaging.

Every mainstream outlet in the U.S. should be running this speech to show Americans what the world thinks of our leaders.

A century as far as Ramsar sites are concerned!

Glad that the Jai Prakash Narayan Bird Sanctuary (Surha Tal) in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh has been designated as India’s 100th Ramsar site. This wetland is rich in avifaunal biodiversity, attracting several migratory and resident birds.

India’s unwavering commitment to protecting our natural surroundings and wetlands in particular is clearly reflected in this feat.

Over the years, efforts to conserve and rejuvenate wetlands have been strengthened through greater community participation, science, innovation and awareness initiatives. These endeavours are helping preserve biodiversity, secure ecological balance and create a greener future for coming generations.
