@Olavics You don't expect him to understand this. The gospel is so easy to be missed. It takes only the Holy Spirit for a proper understanding. Unfortunately, these people are self effort people.
I didn't learn the gospel of Grace from Apostle Harrison, neither did I learn it from Pastor Flourish.
I attended, and I still attend, one of the well known churches in Nigeria, even though I have my own ministry. At first, I was comfortable with the teachings there because they aligned with what the mainstream churches preached.
Then I stumbled upon Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. I hardly listened to many preachers then, but I noticed the differences. That made me go to the Lord in prayer. My heart cry for a while was, "Lord, reveal the gospel to me."
I'll never forget when I heard God's audible voice clearly saying Grace, I turned around to see if someone was talking to me but there was no one, one voice resounded many time, I called some of my pastor friends to discuss it with them, I started understanding the gospel of Grace. The same Bible I had been reading started making sense. I saw Grace in all its fullness. Before then, I knew that "by grace you are saved," but what always followed was that you could lose your salvation based on your efforts, God will leave you, God won't talk to you if your in sin, you are cursed if you don't pay or do this, we are sinners etc
Then I began asking myself: If the gospel is truly Grace, how come my efforts are more powerful than the grace of God? How can what Christ accomplished be overturned by my performance?
Then I read Acts 20, where Paul calls it "the gospel of the grace of God." From then on, I started unlearning many things, renewing my mind, and I am still renewing my mind to know more of God's inexhaustible riches in Christ.
As I continued studying the Scriptures, I became more convinced that the gospel is centered on Christ's finished work and not on human performance. That also led me to start listening to preachers who teach the gospel of Grace consistently from the Scriptures, not those trying to balance two opposites together, grace and works as though both are the basis of our standing before God. Re did foundation and bible school.
This has been my journey. It wasn't about following personalities; it was about following the Scriptures and allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal Christ through the Word.
Spiritual maturity is not measured by the fluency of your tongues or how much scripture you know but BY THE LEVEL OF YOUR OBEDIENCE to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
The strategy of the devil has not changed.
Just like he deceived Eve in the garden by offering a different perspective on what God has said, he is doing the same today through the media.
Eve started seeing the fruit differently the moment she listened to the serpent.
Be careful what you are giving your attention to; it might be shifting your conviction.
