We are firmly committed to collaborating with various stakeholders, pooling together both financial and human resources, to support our youth in skills transfer and capacity building, ultimately enabling self-employment opportunities.

During a meeting with the leadership of the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Group, held this evening, we formalized our commitment by signing a Memorandum of Understanding. This agreement will facilitate the support of 100 young individuals in entrepreneurship skills through the 2jiajiri program. I took the opportunity to reiterate my dedication to creating employment opportunities for our youth.

Within the framework of this program, @KCBGroup will collaborate with selected technical institutions within the county, focusing on five key sectors with significant self-employment potential: construction, electrical services, automotive services, domestic services, beauty and personal care, painting, and agriculture.

This initiative is expected to generate employment opportunities within the County Aggregation and Industrial Park, which is currently under development. Additionally, it will ensure access to credit for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) based in the county, with a Reduced interest rate courtesy of the county government.

I warmly welcomed this partnership and commended KCB for its support in education and environmental programs, emphasizing the positive impact it will have on our community.

I expressed gratitude to Victoria Kamuren, the KCB Regional Manager for the Great Rift, for her role in laying the groundwork for this collaboration.

Furthermore, I challenged the KCB Group to consider implementing follow-up mechanisms for the youths who undergo training through the program, ensuring they secure suitable employment opportunities.

I have received the distressing news of the untimely passing on of Mr. John Otieno Opiyo, the Trans Nzoia County CIPU Commander @NPSOfficial_KE with profound grief and sorrow. Mr. Opiyo tragically lost his life in a fatal accident while going about his normal duties in his rural home in Ndiwa.

His sudden departure leaves a deep void, and we shall greatly miss his invaluable contributions to the security sector in Trans Nzoia County. He was a dependable, hardworking, and dedicated officer, known for his unmatched wit and skills.

To the family, friends, and colleagues of Mr. Opiyo, I extend my heartfelt condolences. During this period of bereavement, may you find the fortitude and strength to cope with this profound loss.
