Regardless of all of this, this was a good movie, incredibly captivating and worth a viewer’s time. It was very entertaining, very nuanced in its portrayal of queerness in such environments and life stages, and the message it portrays is very important. #asathireviews #inxeba

Film review: #INXEBA

INXEBA is a love story that is set ENTABENI during circumcision season. It follows three characters: Kwanda, Xolani and Vija. Kwanda is a city boy. A very disrespectful, insolent and arrogant city boy that has no regard for his tradition and culture.

felt unnecessary to the story but were added anyways as an attempt to be accurate to the true mountain experience. Characters were also poorly introduced, and it felt like we were just thrust into the middle of the story and left there because even the ending was disenchanting.
