@phillyliquorlaw@clopotle Ehh. I know lotsa people who had to take the bar multiple times, and for the most part, they’re kinda not good at issue spotting. Solid tap dancers, but not law nerds.
@la_chatte_verte @MartinMcAvoy_@PhilippusArabus The reason I’m asking what you do for work is because I want to know how you spend your days, so that I can have an understanding of why your messages have been so vitriolic.
@la_chatte_verte @MartinMcAvoy_@PhilippusArabus Do they? I haven’t had much interaction with lawyers other than the ones I work with. I’ve been able to avoid legal problems for the most part.
@la_chatte_verte @MartinMcAvoy_@PhilippusArabus A defense attorney’s job is to ensure that the law is not abused as a cudgel by the enforcement apparatus, and that those who wish to detain people, split up families, and remove people from their homes are held to their burden. If the law is outdated, there’s a remedy for that.
@la_chatte_verte @MartinMcAvoy_@PhilippusArabus “breaking the rule of law with lawfare” is contradictory. Either we’re a nation of due process of law, or we’re not. But thanks for all the meanness about what I do for work. Again, what do you do?
@la_chatte_verte @MartinMcAvoy_@PhilippusArabus I have group solidarity with like-minded individuals. I have a community. We take care of each other, and have standards and shared ethics. We’re also mostly culturally homogenous. But the loyalty is based on the shared ethics not the skin color.
