Our DCSO Team is proud to work collaboratively with the Natural Resources District to ensure safety at Douglas County's numerous lakes, waterways, and trails. Last night, a Deputy was checking in at an NRD Elkhorn River recreation site and came into contact with Ronald BOOZE, age 61.

Mr. BOOZE recently had a felony arrest warrant issued for absconding from probation. BOOZE was on probation after serving a partial prison sentence after being convicted of:
▪ Felon in possession of a firearm
▪ Possession of a controlled substance

BOOZE was booked into the Douglas County Department of Corrections on his warrant. Anyone who came into contact with BOOZE and has information regarding his activities since his warrant was issued on May 27 is asked to contact the DCSO Tip line at 402-444-6000 or [email protected]. BOOZE is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Yesterday afternoon, Sheriff Hanson and DCSO received several calls from neighbors in the Ponca Hills area reporting a disheveled man running through the woods potentially exposing himself. The Sheriff and Deputies responded to the area and after a search located Robert SAMMON, age 47.

SAMMON, a homeless man, had a valid felony arrest warrant for failing to register with the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry and was booked into the Doulas County Department of Corrections. 

Anyone who witnessed Mr. SAMMON yesterday is asked to contact the DCSO Tip Line at 402-444-6000 or [email protected]. SAMMON is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
