Scientists just found all five of the genetic “letters” used by DNA and RNA inside material collected from asteroid Bennu!
Read that again!
Adenine. Guanine. Cytosine. Thymine. Uracil.
Not life itself; but the raw chemical alphabet life uses to write itself into existence.
They also found amino acids, ammonia, thousands of organic compounds and evidence that Bennu’s parent body once had ancient salty water moving through it.
So no...NASA did not find aliens per se.
They found something I find almost as unsettling and way more fascinating.
The ingredients for life are not rare.
They are scattered through space.
Which means Earth may not have invented life from nothing.
@ProfBrianCox Quick question … watched your interview where you said the universe is largely flat. Do you think this is because the universe is spinning? Similar to Galaxies spinning creates flatness
