I have no WhatsApp message from Kunal Shah to flaunt.
Even if I did, I wouldn’t, of course.
Quiet pride that an Indian — not an American with Indian roots, but a “khalis” desi Indian, is part of the global tech leadership circle. This counter narrative is epoch-making.
Aur Miten to hamare guru hain, I am his student. When I started the brand “Slow”, he was the second person to whom I showed the logo and discussed the idea (the first was the startup and innovation icon @vijayshekhar ).
Miten and I were both on flights that were delayed. We sat at a cafe at Delhi airport and I showed him the logo on my phone.
His first words: “This is a hundred-year brand, boss.”
I can never forget those words.

Shame on you @SaketGokhale for taking a cheap shot at an 82-year-old theatre icon Anil Rastogi ji because of your political views.
Anil ji is one of the oldest active theatre and cinema actors in the country.
You are totally entitled to your political views but use them in the right context.
Reckless buckaneering is called “Bandar ke hath mein talvar”.
Proud to have acted alongside Anil ji in my next film, “The Last Batsman”. Such an honour.

Let’s call out content thieves on social media. “I gave you credit” is a nonsense excuse.
If permission is not sought and received from the content owner, it is theft.
When content creator @moliticsindia feels it can cheat journalists off due credit. And if caught, it can lie it's way out. And get away with using template-verbiage.
(Don't poison the well you drink from everyday, content creator friends. Be better.)
Loss making, inflated valuation startups get all the attention in 12 months. Profit making bootstrapped companies take forever to get noticed. A disappointing marketing flaw in 21st century entrepreneurship.
I find a very disturbing trend among doctors in Lucknow (don’t know about other cities) that has been normalised for years.
When you go for consultations, there are many patients already sitting in the room, waiting for their turn. When they talk to one patient about their case, everyone is listening in, and their most private details are public for everyone to hear.
This is a violation of basic courtesy. Doctors, please urgently reconsider this. Please do not do this. I am sitting right now in a doctor’s clinic for my daughter and cringing while I have to hear the personal details of every patient while we wait.

Yup. Normal practice. It’s extremely unethical and I hope today’s attention by many people to this issue changes the working style of at least a few doctors.
I had a similar experience in Lucknow with an added twist. Five patients along with 1-2 attendants each, were allowed inside the doctor’s chamber. We were made to sit in a row such that the first patient was closest to the doctor, and the last patient was farthest. With each consultation, we had to move one space towards the doctor. Apart from the privacy concern, it was borderline humiliating. Never experience anything like this before.
@RGresurface@ranjona@neeleshmisra In a very prestigious hospital in Pune, the names of patients, rooms they are in, and the admitting doctor are put up in the lobby of that floor. Anyone can know what their ailment is because the specialities of all doctors are on the website. 🤦♂️
Privacy is a western concept.
Have you read Toba Tek Singh by Saadat Hasan Manto?
No?
Then you must.
It is a haunting story about Partition. Naseer ji’s character in Main Vaapas Aaunga reminded me, in some ways, of Bishan Singh, the central character in Toba Tek Singh.
Back in the day, almost everyone I knew had read it. The story deserves to be revived. And the best part is that it is available online for free.
Side note: Toba Tek Singh is not the lead character of the story, but a place in Pakistan. Toba means pond. According to local legend, the town was named after Tek Singh, a Sikh who offered water and shelter to thirsty travellers passing by the pond.
