Today, we observed Black Day to mark the day when our historic state of Jammu & Kashmir was divided into two Union Territories and stripped of its statehood. For the first time in India’s history, a full-fledged state was downgraded into a Union Territory.

This decision weakened the democratic rights and aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. We reiterate our unwavering demand for the restoration of full statehood and the democratic rights of our people.
