@Forbes: "A whole-of-government effort like the one envisioned in the REMOVE Act could [...] help speed the process along, and as @NegEmissions notes, could even help the energy transition get back on track with global temperature containment goals."

We applaud the efforts by Reps. @AnnMcLaneKuster
and @RepAGonzalez to prompt bipartisan action. Carbon removal technologies, coupled with robust emissions reduction initiatives, must be accelerated immediately and are necessary for staying within a 1.5-degree pathway.
We are encouraged by the bold ambition in a new Bill proposed in the U.S. House of Representatives, the Removing Emissions to Mend Our Vulnerable Earth (REMOVE) Act. We believe legislation is one of the first levers to enacting real-world change.
While this year’s #EarthDay marks a time to reflect and recalibrate as a society, we urgently advise that there is no time to waste for global government policies that empower the investment in a broad portfolio of negative emission solutions.
#EarthDay2022#InvestInOurPlanet
As the world celebrates #EarthDay this year, the recent IPCC WGIII report is a stark reminder that the health of our planet relies on unprecedented investment in solutions to reduce and remove greenhouse gas emissions.
Current mitigation efforts are not sufficient to stop the planet’s warming trajectory. We must rapidly reduce emissions, while accelerating the development of robust negative emissions – which requires investment of at least 30x current levels to stay within a 1.5-degree pathway.
Today, we release a new paper on the importance of developing a global negative emissions industry. We urgently need to scale carbon removal markets to help decarbonise hard-to-abate industries and address both current and historic emissions.

The @IPCC_CH Report is a sobering assessment for the world today. To mitigate the worst impacts of climate change, we must accelerate negative emissions technologies to remove GHG emissions and reverse our current course. See our full statement here: https://t.co/sevDpHIE2K
We're pleased to have supported @CommonsEAC's inquiry into Negative Emissions Technologies. NETs are essential for keeping us below 1.5° of warming by combining the removal of CO2 from the atmosphere with permanent CO2 storage. See our evidence here: https://t.co/mFprBJqi79
Then Raph Pfaeltzer at @StoreggaEarth and Amy Ruddock, VP Europe at @CarbonEngineer discussed their partnership. They have begun engineering + design of a DACS facility, set to permanently remove 500,000-1 million tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere annually.
We were grateful to CEO of @DraxGroup@ddwg and CEO of @CarbonEngineer Steve Oldham for delivering their opening remarks, highlighting the need for negative emissions solutions. We then had a fantastic keynote speech delivered by Chair of the @ETC_energy@AdairTurnerUK
At our #COP26 event on Wednesday evening, current and prospective Coalition members discussed why commercialising #NegativeEmissions#NETs#GHGRemoval is essential for #NetZero

"It is critical that the UK Government works with industry to create the right investment framework for projects in the 2020s, which will enable the sustainable scale-up of the industry between now and 2050.”🌍
As a coalition we have responded to the UK Government's #NetZeroStrategy, published today. Read our thread below or click here. 👇

"There is growing consensus from independent experts, including the Climate Change Committee and National infrastructure Commission, that negative emissions are essential to mitigate emissions in hard-to-decarbonise industries. ⚡️
