After 3 years, it's finally here and it's going to change lightning photography forever. Built by chasers, for chasers...introducing Bolt Hunter. https://t.co/7jHBx3ggHC
I call this one "Missed Opportunity." As is par for the course in my lightning photography, I will always flub the best shot of the night by turning off BOTH Bolt Hunters only to turn them back on and forget to turn on the sensitivity right as I miss this epic blast. 4 F-bombs edited out for sensitive ears.
It was a challenging day to capture lightning at White Sands today but I managed to capture this strike on the edge of the haboob as it began its push over the dunes. Southern New Mexico's highest peak, Sierra Blanca, towering at 11,973 ft, stands in the distance. #nmwx #whitesands
Last night west El Paso finally got its return of thunderstorms and it was pretty wild. Not too many bolts but some places got heavy rains and flash flooding just to the north. #elpaso
I was sitting on the side of the road in the pitch black just outside of Council Grove, Kansas. I had hundreds of fireflies flying around the surface just after each lightning strike. It was the coolest thing to see. It really depended on how strong the bolt was and how long the fireflies would actually stay down. This was one of those strong bolts 😮 ⚡️ @_BoltHunter #kswx #pnw #chaser #storm
Incredible mothership supercell last night near Centerville, South Dakota!
Some of the best structure I’ve ever seen and had a tornado to top it off.

@AZStormChase Nice!! Looks to me like one return stroke in the back with a leader that never connected in front. Could have even been a secondary strike in progress right as the exposure ended. Did you happen to have the app connected during this chase? Could pull up the data graph to confirm
Forgot to post this the other day, but I finally got a chance to test out the @Negative_Tilt Bolt Hunter on a group of severe storms in Northern Minnesota. Not sure what’s happening here…I assume this is before the strike fully connects or in between pulses? #mnwx
This powerful bolt of lightning shot out of the sky near Spearman, TX. I was using the new @_BoltHunter that @Negative_Tilt designed. I was lucky enough to capture seven different images out of this same bolt. ⚡️ ⛈️ #txwx#pnw#chaser#lightning
Sometimes I can’t believe the internet or the timing of fate. Today while checking my FB page someone sent me this. The truck going by me was recording when it was struck by lightning! The 360 camera looks like a damn lava bomb going off!!
⚡️Finally got my first bolt with bolt hunter yesterday. With how much light was hitting the camera and how far away the bolt was, my miops would have never stood a chance. Can't wait for more chances to show its true potential!
