Steam game developers are receiving strange emails asking them to sell the rights to their poorly selling games.

These offers are usually very low, like only $100. “We are interested in purchasing the rights for your STEAM game,” followed by the game name.

The email explains that they search for games that performed poorly on Steam and will pay at least $100 if the rights are transferred.

Some devs worry these emails could give control of the game page on Steam to add malicious content.

本日、最後の調査対象物件となる「第4ステージ（某カルト宗教関連物件）」の詳細を公開する予定でしたが、直前になり情報の公開を急遽見送る運びとなりました。また、本件に伴い、本作の発売自体を「延期」または「開発中止」とする可能性が浮上しております。
理由は以下の通りです。

・特定団体からの圧力
第4ステージ（某カルト宗教関連物件）の関係者を名乗る団体(真偽不明)より、開発の即時停止を求める脅迫文・強い圧力を受けております。現在、法的な見地を含めて対応を協議しております。

・開発データ内への情報混入
直近のテストプレイにおいて、第4ステージのテキストデータや音声ファイル内に、開発陣が実装した記憶のない「実在する個人の実名（開発スタッフ含む）」や「特定の口座番号」が含まれていることが発覚しました。関係者以外のアクセスログがないことから、開発チーム内部に特定の思想を持つ人間が紛れ込んでいる、あるいは何らかのルートでデータが改ざんされた疑いがあり、現在外部の専門機関を交えて調査を行っています。

今後の対応やリリースの可否に関する続報につきましては、事態に何らかの進展があり次第、改めてこちらで共有させていただきます。
