One thing I wasn't prepared for was saying goodbye to 20 amazing students and their families. We learned, laughed, played, cried, and overcame many obstacles together. I can't wait to see their smiling faces as second graders next year! 🥰

Officer Riss visited our classroom today! She read a book to us, taught us about school safety, and let us ask questions about her job. We absolutely loved having her in our classroom and are very grateful for what she does! 🚔❤️🤍

A couple weeks ago, my class achieved their whole group reward through hard-work and trying their best to follow expectations. Their reward was a Glow Party during writing - so many happy writers! ☺️ #WholeBrainTeaching

As an enrichment project, my first graders researched a person in Black History. They enjoyed choosing who to research, learning about them, and presenting their findings to our class! 📚

This week in Social Studies, my first graders, learned about accepting others and being kind. We also learned about the achievements of African American's in history and will continue to throughout the month. ❤️🌎

I cannot believe we have already spent 100 days of learning together!! To celebrate, we dressed up like we were 100, wrote bucket lists, practiced counting by tens while making a necklace, and more! ❤️🤍

We concluded our landforms and bodies of water unit by building them ourselves! My students loved being able to bring their learning to life. 💚🌊

A few of our lesson extensions from last week, after reading and writing about the life of Native Americans and Pilgrims! We learned about wetus and how eating utensils were made. It is awesome seeing my students excited to learn! 🥰

We concluded our pumpkin unit today by carving a pumpkin while learning about the different parts of a pumpkin! We also ate pumpkin pie and then graphed our data. 🧡🎃

Last week, my first graders learned about Indigenous People's Day. We made hand dot art and dreamcatchers while learning about their significance. They were fascinated! ❤️
