Our fight is for affordable public transport. Instead of explaining why Bengaluru now has the costliest Metro fares in the country, the State Government is busy trying to arrest me for exposing its failures.

@siddaramaiah’s Sarkara is a true #KhaliTrunkSarkara - financially hollow and forcing citizens to bear the burden of steep public transport costs.

The truth is simple. This massive fare revision was triggered because the State Government withdrew the crucial Shadow Cash Support that earlier governments provided to BMRCL to cover loan repayments and operational losses.

The State Government must answer why it withdrew this support, immediately reconstitute the Fare Fixation Committee, and take concrete steps to rationalise fares and protect Bengaluru’s commuters, instead of resorting to intimidation.
