Ekadashi is one of those days of the month when our body does not require food. Fasting on these days helps cleanse our system and also turns our awareness inward. For those who cannot do without food, having a light, fruit diet on this day also proves to be beneficial.

Discover the secrets of Terra Preta!
Terra Preta, meaning "black soil" in Portuguese, is a unique soil type crafted by ancient Amazonian tribes. They blended charcoal, pottery sherds, and mysterious organic materials. What captivates contemporary scientists is its enduring fertility, preserved for millennia, and our ongoing challenge to replicate its exact qualities. This pursuit led to the creation of 'biochar': a modern counterpart of charcoal that's now a valuable addition to your garden toolkit! #SaveSoil

In yogic culture, Growth means Dissolution. You dissolve your limited persona to become as vast as the Universe. When you are nothing, in some way, you are everything. #SadhguruQuotes
On the second day of the #Soils4Med launch meeting, we visited a Vertisol in northwest Sardinia. This soil is well structured and rich in organic content (around 3%), which makes it suitable for crops such as olives and cereals, or for pasture under conservative soil practices and no-tillage. We are also learning about soils and coastal dynamics. In the background, the azure Mediterranean Sea provides a stunning vista for our research.

Though distressingly familiar, it is well within the capacity of this generation to change course & abort or mitigate impact of impending ecological, economic & social disasters- but only if we Act Now & in unity to halt further land degradation. To #SaveSoil is a shared global responsibility we can no longer afford to postpone. Placing land under shade must be codified into global policymaking and incentivized. The cost of doing this is negligible compared to the cost of inaction. Let’s make it happen. -Sg @ibrahimthiaw@UNCCD

Losing millions of kilometers of arable land to land degradation is walking ourselves into food and water stress of epic proportions. Soil is a borderless shared treasure- the wealth it offers is Life itself. May we unite urgently to #SaveSoil and offer the possibility of an Abundant Planet to future generations. Incentivizing farmers to place their lands under shade is among the simplest, most effective and least expensive solutions with high ecological and economic returns. Let’s make it happen. -Sg @ibrahimthiaw@UNCCD

The ecological havoc we have wreaked on the planet as a result of senseless single-use plastic consumption will inevitably manifest in human health and the health of every creature. A policy level ban on single-use plastic beyond critical to salvage what is left of virgin natural territory. -Sg #BeatPlasticPollution
Help Save Soil = Help Solve Climate Change
The scientific evidence supports using agricultural soils to act as a significant carbon sink and help fight climate change. By boosting soil organic content, more carbon can be kept in the soil instead of contributing to global warming. This not only removes carbon dioxide, but also improves soil health and fertility. #SaveSoil

The air we breathe.
The water we drink.
The food we eat.
Our medicines.
Our livelihoods.
Earth’s ecosystems have extraordinary value & humanity’s survival depends on them. To protect our planet & future, countries must transform economies #ForNature.
Can Save Soil really save the world’s soils?
It may seem too monumental a task - but such feats have been accomplished before. A great example is the Montreal Protocol, one of the most successful environmental agreements of all time.
The Montreal Protocol ended one of the biggest threats ever to face humanity as a whole: the depletion of the ozone layer. The ozone layer, a fragile shield of gas, protects the Earth from the harmful portion of the rays of the sun, thus helping preserve life on the planet. This is a shining example of what can be accomplished when we all come together for a common cause.
So, will Save Soil work? Yes - if all of us come together, we can #SaveSoil!

Did you know that vegetation plays a vital role in maintaining our water resources and safeguarding against devastating floods? 🌿✨
In 2019, Sadhguru launched Cauvery Calling to support farmers to plant 2.42 billion trees to revitalize river Cauvery. Till date, Cauvery Calling has supported 176000 farmers to grow 90 million living trees and their incomes have increased by 300 to 800 percent. Cauvery Calling has been recognized by global bodies such as the United Nations as a solution for river revitalization in the tropical world.
