Nick Saban said, “There can be no great victories in life unless you can overcome adversity.”
Resilience is your ability to face adversity and move forward.
• It means grit.
• It means toughness.
• It means adaptability.

If you too big to do the small things, you’re too little to do the big things!
How you do anything is how you do everything and how you do everything is how you do anything!
Big things, small things, ordinary days, championship days, it does not matter-Excellence is who they are in all things!
Dean Smith didn’t just coach basketball; he coached life.
Here are 8 timeless insights from Coach Smith that every coach, leader, and athlete should know:
1️⃣ LEADERSHIP
"A leader's job is to develop committed followers. Bad leaders destroy their followers' sense of commitment.”
A team of committed players will win. Develop a culture of commitment through effective player leadership.
2️⃣ PRAISE
“Praise behavior that you want repeated.”
It's pretty simple. You are what you emphasize. If you want repeated behavior, then praise the process.
3️⃣ COACHING
“If you make every game a life and death proposition, you will have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot.”
This is a great reminder to always consider the big picture. Sport is a game, and Coach Smith always took a healthy approach to coaching.
4️⃣ THE RIGHT THING
“You should never be proud of doing the right thing. You should just do it.”
Doing the right thing should be the standard, not a celebration. Players cannot achieve next-level leadership until they effectively lead themselves.
5️⃣ TEAMWORK
“Basketball is a beautiful game when the five players on the court play with one heartbeat.”
Coach Smith had a standard of teamwork. An expectation was that all 5 players worked as one. Even though he coached some of the most elite players ever, they always played as a team.
6️⃣ MISTAKES
“What to do with a mistake: recognize it, admit it, learn from it, forget it.”
It is a great reminder of how to deal with mistakes. Quick, simple, and effective. He never dwelled on mistakes.
7️⃣SELFISHNESS
“One player's selfish attitude can poison a locker room and make it hard, if not impossible, to establish teamwork.”
Coach Smith was all about TEAM. No one player was above the rest. You were expected to play as one, and any selfish behavior was unacceptable.
8️⃣ SIMPLICITY
“Over-coaching is the worst thing you can do to a player.”
Less is more. Simple Wins. All great Coaches say this. Simplify what you do as a coach. Force yourself to do less. Let your players play with freedom.

Urban Meyer said, "It's so easy to be average."
"Did you push yourself to be great today? If you didn't do it, you lost today. We don't have many days to lose."
Excellence isn't the goal, it's the standard.
It's the daily standard you set.
You achieve excellence when your commitment and perseverance become routine.
• It's the will to commit and compete.
• It's the standard you set.
• It's your daily mindset.
How to Win Today with Excellence
1. Be Unrelenting in Your Work Ethic - Create a relentless approach to your work and your goals. Put forth maximum effort and focus in everything you do. It's not just what you do, but how you do. By consistently pushing yourself, you'll continue to improve. This unwavering dedication is crucial in setting you apart and leading you towards success.
2. Commit to Greatness and Your Craft - You have to be committed and dedicated to your craft. It takes focus. This commitment to excellence and continuous learning ensures constant growth and expertise in your craft. Excellence is not the destination, it's the journey.
3. Always Learn and Look to Improve - Always be on the lookout for ways to better yourself, whether it's through learning new skills, seeking feedback, or challenging existing practices. This mindset of growth keeps you adaptable and flexible when you face new challenges.
4. Uphold Daily Consistency and Discipline - Establish and adhere to a regular routine that supports your goals. By practicing discipline in your daily habits, you create a foundation for consistent progress and achievement. This consistency is the bedrock of excellence, transforming ambitious goals into reality.
5. Choose Resilience and Grit - Resilience is a choice. Accept that there will be adversity and by embracing this adversity, you have the opportunity to learn and grow stronger. This power of resilience not only helps you overcome immediate obstacles but also builds your character, essential for long-term success and fulfillment.
6. Build the Vision then Prioritize - Build the vision of what you want, how you're going to get there, and then attack. This is important because it focuses you on what matters. It prioritizes what is important to help you manage your energy and attention every day. You wake up each day knowing the vision, where to concentrate, and how to get there.
Dabo Swinney said, "The only disability in life is a bad attitude."
"It's the optimists who change the world."
Your attitude is a choice.
• Bring a positive attitude every day.
• Look to grow and improve.
• Choose resilience.

Ownership is not something that someone else can demand of you- we all choose each day, moment by moment, whether we are going to OWN areas of our lives.
Ownership is fully displayed in our relationships, pursuit of our dreams, our effort at work, the way we love and serve, on and on.
Chris Paul GOLD.
“Just keep stacking days…I promise you, you will see the change.”
There are no secrets.
Don’t Quit.
Keep with it and you will see results.
Trust the Process.
