@BBCBerkshire This is a good measure by the Crown Estate. Sadly, there's too little control by many (including some professional dog-walkers, who clearly take on too many dogs at a time) to the detriment of wildlife, to say nothing of uncleared mess that they sometimes leave behind.
@PryorFrancis I don't know - it looks appropriate for an institution based in a town famous for the motor industry.... (where do you find the irony emoji on Twitter?)
Sad news this morning. Robert Gillmor died yesterday after a long illness. His contributions to art and ornithology were outstanding, but many of us will remember him as a kind person, always willing to give time for others, and his modesty. RIP Robert - you leave a great legacy.
@PryorFrancis As a small time technophobe, I find these much easier to use than those "Ringo" systems or others requiring you to download their software
Closure of APB Belarus
More bad news - this great organisation has been closed by the Belarus Government as "a political organisation". APB has had a great record, promoting conservation, public participation and ornithology. Thoughts are with Alexandre, Viktor and colleagues
@IBIS_journal@_BTO Very sad day. I (and many others) have many happy memories of working with Gwen and benefitting from her work. RIP Gwen, and thanks for everything
I am devastated by the news from Ukraine. Thoughts with all the peace loving people of Ukraine, Russia and Belarus being betrayed by Putin and Lukashenko.
35 years ago, Berkshire Birders were lucky to get BMW 7 series handed to them for the day...Thanks Ken, a few young faces here to recognise if you were around at the time
