Crosby Coastal Park Toilets Update 🚻
A quick update on the new public toilets at Crosby Coastal Park:
Works have been slightly delayed due to unexpected ground and utility issues during early construction.
The good news is that funding for the extra work was approved this week, so progress is back on track.
The aim is still to have the new facilities open for the summer season, although completion will now be a few weeks later than originally planned.
We know how important these toilets are for residents and visitors, especially after the busy Bank Holiday, and we’ll keep pushing for progress and keep you informed.
As your Green councillors, we will continue pushing the council to get these delivered as quickly as possible.
Any questions please just ask 💚
🚨 Section 34 Dispersal Order for Waterloo coast 🚨
Good afternoon everyone,
We’ve had a constructive conversation with Merseyside Police this morning regarding recent issues at Waterloo Beach.
In the short term, Merseyside Police have announced that a Section 34 Dispersal Order will be put in place from 6pm this evening. This gives officers the power to direct individuals to leave the area if they are behaving in a way deemed inappropriate or causing anti-social behaviour.
Please be aware there may be a higher-than-usual police presence in the area while the order is in force.
We have also asked for a mobile police station to be positioned at the beach during busy periods. This request has now been formally raised, and we hope Merseyside Police will consider implementing it.
We also took the opportunity to thank officers for the work they are doing during this busy period. As a local community, we really do appreciate their efforts.
For further updates and more in depth details, please keep an eye on Merseyside Police social media channels.

UPDATE: GREEN COUNCILLORS WRITE TO POLICE LEADERS URGING CLEAR ACTION PLAN FOR A SAFER WATERLOO BEACH
Increased high-visibility policing during busy periods, and clarity on whether a mobile police station can be introduced
Stronger joint working between Merseyside Police, Sefton Council and partner agencies
Firm action against violence, intimidation and disorder
A clear long-term plan to manage peak periods and keep the beach safe for everyone
In light of recent events, it’s crucial these concerns are addressed to put robust and effective plans in place for the summer period.

Green Group formed on Sefton Council, as Party momentum grows
Green councillors officially formed the first ever Green Group on Sefton Council at the Council’s Annual General Meeting on Thursday evening. The newly formed group says its approach will be constructive, principled and community-led.
Councillors Kieran Dams, Samantha Cook and Neil Doolin were elected on 7th May to represent residents in Waterloo & Seaforth in South Sefton. Following yesterday's AGM, the Green councillors have secured seats on council committees, which will give the Green Group a meaningful role in shaping decisions, scrutinising council actions, and ensuring residents’ voices are heard.
Cllr Neil Doolin, Leader of the Green Group, said:
“This is a historic moment for Greens in Sefton and we’re excited to get to work. Residents voted for a stronger voice, better scrutiny, and councillors who will stand up for local communities.
“Too many people feel unheard or overlooked in politics. Our job is to make sure residents have strong advocates in the council chamber: championing local concerns, pushing for action where services are falling short, and holding the Labour administration to account in a constructive and positive way.
“We’re determined to be visible, hardworking councillors who listen to residents and deliver practical results for our communities.”
The Sefton Green Group’s priorities for the year ahead include:
✅️ Providing strong and effective scrutiny of the Labour administration at every level of the council.
✅️ Giving residents a stronger voice on the issues affecting their communities and quality of life.
✅️ Pushing for practical improvements to local services, neighbourhood environments and community

Say hello to Chris Kennedy - Safeguarding Nurse, battle-tested Green Campaigner, Passionate Grassroots Visionary and your Green Party candidate for Makerfield 💚
Our first week as your three Green councillors 🌱
This morning at Bootle Town Hall, Kieran and Sam completed their full induction training, and together we signed the paperwork that for the first time makes the Green Party an officially recognised political group on Sefton Council.
What this means for residents:
✅️ A stronger Green voice inside the council
✅️ Representation on committees where decisions are shaped
✅️ Better access to information and officer support
✅️ More power to challenge decisions and push for improvements
We’re already picking up casework, we’ve got more meetings next week, and we’re building a clear list of priorities for Waterloo and Seaforth informed by resident feedback.
Thank you again for your trust. The work has begun.
Myself and Bella out this morning and came across several concerning flytipping/litter issues. I cleared up as best as possible.
Again flytipping on Dean Street and more concerns around the Shell Garage, Mount Pleasant and St Johns Road. Some residents are placing their bin sacks out on the street days before collection day and this is the result.
All of these incidents have been reported to the council's enforcement team and hopefully evidence will be found that will lead to prosecution of the offenders.
As Green councillors we have zero tolerance for flytipping/littering and we will work hand in hand with residents and the council enforcement team to stamp out this blight on our community.
@ryan_wain "stood on a ticket that wasn’t about who they were against but what they were for. ".... really Ryan????.... you weren't following the election campaign that I was following....
Record numbers of Green councillors ready to deliver for their communities across the country.
This morning Starmer said ‘people need hope’ - we agree.
They’re not going to find it in a failing Labour Party.
Join the alternative today ⤵️
This photo was taken above Colne Valley exactly nine years ago. Labour ran through my veins then.
A party I loved was destroyed by unprincipled careerists.
New hope though, today with the @TheGreenParty and @ZackPolanski
Sefton voted for hope and for change. 💚
From 1 to 3 councillors, our best ever result across Sefton, and a record-breaking 24% in Bootle, Labour’s so-called safest seat.
People are ready for something different. This is just the beginning.
Thank you 💚
Polls have closed!
All I can say is a massive thank you to all residents of Waterloo
It’s been a hard campaign against Labour nonsense but we have stuck together and not stopped believing
It’s been inspirational hearing so many people go green for the first time
Thank you 💚
It’s Polling Day and this was us last night, still out on the streets, still talking to residents, still hearing the same message again and again:
