Here are my sons at that same park…on a bench in memory of my dad (zoom in to see his name)…depicting oak trees and their leaves.
Thanks Mom. There is no place like Nebraska.
Thirty years ago today, @nancyneumeyer wrote a note excusing me from high school to attend our small town’s #ArborDay ceremony. The fourth-graders stood around a newly planted sapling, sang the state song and I cried.
My grandpa, from Nebraska, went through Kansas City’s Union Station on his way to WWII in Europe.
He NEVER could’ve imagined it looking like this. #NFLDraft
What a debut for true freshman Bennett Stirtz (NW MO State), as the Liberty (MO) product went 6-6 fg (1-1 on 3's) & 2-2 FT's, with 5 asts & 0 turnovers....and was terrific in the 2nd half as the Bearcats pulled away from West Texas A&M for a 78-62 win. @NWBearcatMBB@lhsbballfans
A lot of people think things slow down and get boring as you get older, but “Jeopardy!” was really close today. I mean, my mom and I texted about it a couple times *and* talked about it on the phone…and then I just had to text her a screenshot.
Was wrapping up a conversation with an acquaintance and he asked, “How’s everything else goin’ for ya? Do you have good friends?”
What a nice, caring, thoughtful question! (And the answer is YES)
@jenhartmann I couldn’t agree more. Three letters my dad sent me more than 30 years ago at church camp (@caroljoyholling) are now some of my most prized possessions.
