There he goes again. @NeilOttawa posts another very effective political marketing video.

Too bad it isn't playing on local tv stations.

It's effective in 3 ways:

1. First and foremost, it's a contrast 'ad', helping voters - most of whom are barely paying attention - to make their decisions. This matters in a multi-candidate election with a confusing array of policy agendas.

2. He picks taxes as a contrast between him and Leiper. That is sure to get voters' attention. Notice that he's not talking about intangibles such as 'accountability'. He gets straight to business: this is how I'm different from that guy and why it matters to you.

3. Technically, it's well done: a little theme music, good sound, clear images of his competitors.

Will it attract more voters to his ticket? That's unknown and usually can only be picked up in focus groups testing people's awareness of his campaign or specific survey questions.
