Hello!
I have a story out in @JellyfishReview, which is a dream come true. (👈🏼I'm not a poet and I know it.)
This is the first thing I've published that's more than just words. I'm proud of it and I'd love for you to read it, which you can do here -

We knew it wouldn't work out when you told me you can see a person's whole backstory and future by looking into their eyes.
"It's my superpower," you said.
"Colours evoke feelings in me," I said. "That's my superpower.
Then our eyes met. Yours were blue. So were mine.

I wanted to reboot my wardrobe.
I found a switch and flicked it off then on.
Then I realised...
That wasn't my wardrobe.
That was The Universe.
Now I'm alone at the beginning of time, waiting for this shirt from 2003 to come into style 13.7 billion years from now.

I've not been writing much for a while now. The break's been nice, but I want to get back writing soon.
For now, here's a selection of stuff I wrote when I was in my micro-writing pomp in 2018/19. Thanks @BulbCultCo for giving these a second home today -

The light is on for @NeilRClark!
"Cosmic Micros 2019" is a breathtaking series that takes readers to the stars. Whether you're reading these micros for the first time or discovering them again, we know they'll dazzle and awe. https://t.co/3fQ7H1w3ec
We've already had two amazing posts this week thanks to @RobinAKinzer and @FBereaud, and this Friday we're continuing the trend by republishing a series of micros by a BELOVED writer in this community: @NeilRClark!! We're SO excited to showcase Neil's gorgeous work!
I worked in a warehouse with a man who dropped boxes.
"This universe is in a box I didn't handle with care," he told me. "The stars are the shards inside."
Often, I wonder how he's doing.
I opened a package today. Constellations fell out.
He's still doing God's work.

If you fancy reading a Halloween horror flash about a dead man climbing onto a boat, here's one I wrote in 2019. This was the first and only time I won a writing contest, which was very cool, thanks @MolotovLitZine!
You can read 'Dead Man from the Ocean Floor' here ⬇️⬇️⬇️
