@DPJHodges Have to say you called it absolutely right. Burnham’s margin much bigger than most predicted, though @PeterKellner1 should get an honourable mention
@GeoffNorcott You were great but shouldn’t have let the Labour person shout at you that they were spending an extra £270bn on defence. This is the total spend not the extra, and straight up misinformation! https://t.co/bXsdC3rIKR
@colinrtalbot I think he just needed them all to get some pitch time. The second warm up match may tell us more about his strategy (assuming he has one?)
@cornynthecob@DanNeidle I’m afraid I think he knew very well that CT is payable on a houseboat. I know two couples who lived on houseboats for a while and were well aware of their responsibilities.
@colinrtalbot If Starmer had announced yesterday that he would legislate for PR in the next session his claim to radicalism would have some weight. He could even dust off the Jenkins review to avoid years of navel gazing.
But like all politicians, he loves FPTP when it works for him.
@colinrtalbot No worries. If I was one of the DMs that just turned up it would explain your failure to acknowledge-which was very out of character since you are always unfailingly polite on this increasingly impolite platform!
@Skipper7994@DPJHodges No we want him to admit he misled the House, which he clearly did. His failure to admit he did so, even inadvertently, is inexplicable unless he assumes that he will then be held to the same standard he imposed on Johnson - ie inadvertently misleading is a resignation issue
