@TheDoorRestorer See the close grain in the wood, a sign of good Columbian pine, quality timber found in many pre war timber manufactured windows, doors, external framing and cladding. The current quick growing Scandinavian pine despite some of the best treatments, preservers, will rot quicker.

@DrHelenFry True Story, Feb/Mar 1943 Tunisia, 114 Squadron flew Blenheim V which had very poor performance, to be replaced with new Boston 111, before flying back to UK, crews wanted to practice on one, they played darts against Yanks sqd to get use of one, they won and Yanks gave them one.

@DrHelenFry My fathers service in the RAF during WW2 as WoP/AG having his log books and other service clothing he kept, also his younger brother also in the RAF WOp/AG shot down in Sterling Bomber,daylight raid 1941, just one week after going on operations and finishing training.

@jamierkennedy It is well known that for those who have visited all The Open venues that R Birkdale is the best for spectators, great viewing points on dunes throughout the course, next to train station, good access from main roads and motorways North & South, not really any choke points.

Been to his grave in Dunkirk, photographs of his grave from his parents visit after the war still in his log books.
