I’m Neile_says over at the blue place. I don’t post much there either, but I’d be happy to see you there as I won’t be checking in here.
Thanks for the old good times.
@taylor_dallas Stereolab!!! Longtime fans here at ours. For me it was The Moon Seven Times and it was at least 20 years ago (t-shirts disappeared from my wardrobe around then)
@HollyWadeMatter Students in our historic preservation program studied it before it went & reported that it was in scary bad shape. So sad to lose it, but you're right: at least there's still part of it.
Hey, I'm participating in the Clarion West Write-a-thon once again. Sponsors will get poems (ha! whether they want them or not) and hear about progress on my novel. Summer is here! https://t.co/zzTzOlIVMH
@sicarrol My very Canadian mother made meatloaf when I was a kid. She was was born and grew up in Winnipeg then moved farther west in Canada. I think it might just be a ground-beef-era thing rather than an American thing. I occasionally make it with ground turkey.
@Kris10Callihan I love this story both as a reader and a writer. It's beautifully constructed. I have read it multiple times switching reader/writer hats and admiring it both ways. So delighted to have it in my ears today on an especially tough day.
Wow, I can speak to this. Causing that disappointment was the most painful part of the job when I was was doing that. There's so much talent and promise out there. Your talent and promise. And this no does NOT mean you're not a writer or won't have a great career.
Okay. Workshop staff speaking here--We know many folks are disappointed by the rejection emails that went out today. We want to talk a little about how hard this process was… (So hard we were two weeks later than usual in sending out the news!) 🧵
@iamboogie Yeah, here too. Death + cancer treatments in extended family, collapsed drain that will have to be replac$$ed, on it goes, including having to listen to my own whining
@nanankweti just got a terrific review of her new short story collection, Walking on Cowrie Shells, at The New York Times. Woot! https://t.co/QNdascgKpA
