@amylawrence71 talked about the gradual build and crescendo of this crowd response to Havertz’s winner in the Handbrake Off pod - it’s super clear On this video - superb!
When you look at so many other club’s ownership and how they operate - I for one am grateful that they own us. Not saying that’s always been the case - the Super
League was a massive misstep. Fair to say I’m glad now.
So much of how the Kronkes operate reminds me of Jimmy Iovine’s early music success. Identify elite talent, resource them get out of the way. Certainly true of Arteta (with some obvs added structural changes around recruitment) also Mcvay at the Rams and Jokic @ the Nuggets.
It’s very smart. The parallel is not completely infallible but it is interesting to me.
- They back young, vision-led leaders
- They invest heavily in infrastructure - They avoid ego-driven interference
- They think long-term, not quarterly
Eze looked as good as I’ve seen him for us last night the number of times he looked for the one two and didn’t get it back was disappointing from others though; his angles of passing, vision and directness - Superb I thought.
LOVE Arteta & the team’s response to Sunday’s loss:
- Enjoyment
- Courage
- Conviction
It’d be amazing if we can all get on board with that.
Also - surprised how little talk there’s been about this loss coming off the back of an unprecedented 4 away games on the bounce.
"It’s fine that people hate us, it’s part of our history. We're The Arsenal. They hate us. Go out and be The Arsenal."
Happy 81st birthday to Arsenal legend, George Graham! 3 trophies as a player and a further 7 trophies as manager. The architect of Anfield ‘89 🏆🔴⚪
Arsenal have scored more Premier League goals from open-play than any other side in November:
◉ 7 - Arsenal
◎ 6 - Chelsea
◎ 5 - Brighton
◎ 5 - Man City
◎ 5 - Nottingham Forest
That's more than Liverpool, Man Utd and Spurs combined (5). 😀
WSL: we need to use the fact that a huge injustice has been done today to power us in trying to scale what looks like an impossible mountain…. Poor descions today - massive implications. Angry.
That first half from Ø juts shows you what happens when we have squad enough to allow players to actually recover full fitness before they come back. He and Saka been run into the ground as our most important players previously . But now… we will get more of this!
Screw the penalty decision we know that VAR is and always will be bollocks. I said at half time we need to show the sort of mentality to come back and win… and tbh part of me feared we didn’t have it! BUT WE DO have it! YESSSSSS
Worth noting … Arteta is a better football coach than you. Of course I’d have loved to see Eze and Nwaneri start too but what do I know actually… it’s a squad game now… and the ‘finishers’ could make the difference’
@SM66634659 Maybe. I don’t know if I’d be that definitive still. Can’t legislate for a free kick like that eh!? That said I do wonder if Arteta’s experience as a player at Anfield has affected him as a manager? Do you remember when he spoke a bout the only time he felt overwhelmed ..
