🚨 PETER SCHMEICHEL on Manchester City been found guilty of all 155 charges against them.
🎙️REPORTER: Peter, Manchester City have now been found guilty of the 115 charges. What punishment do you believe they deserve?
🗣️PETER SCHMEICHEL: This is bigger than Manchester City. 115 guilty charges is not something football can simply brush under the carpet.
They should be relegated. And honestly, I wouldn’t stop there.
Every Premier League title that is proven to have been won during the period affected by these breaches should be taken away. Those titles should be removed from Manchester City’s history and reassigned according to the rules.
And let me say something that Manchester City fans won’t want to hear: you cannot call yourself the greatest Premier League side of your era if the achievements that built that reputation have been officially tainted by 115 guilty findings.
The trophies may still be in their cabinet today, but history can change.
🎙️REPORTER: So you don’t believe a fine would be enough?
🗣️PETER SCHMEICHEL: A fine? After 115 guilty charges? No.
If the offences are serious enough to undermine the integrity of the competition, then the punishment must be serious enough to protect the integrity of the competition.
Manchester City cannot be bigger than the Premier League. Nobody is.
🚨 Kobbie Mainoo on the message David Beckham sent him:
🗣️ Kobbie Mainoo: “David messaged me after one of our games and I honestly didn’t know what to say at first.
“He said, ‘Kobbie, I’ve been watching you. You’ve got something United players are supposed to have you don’t look scared of the shirt.’
“I thanked him and thought that was the end of it.
“Then another message came.
“He said, ‘I keep hearing people compare you with midfielders from the past. Scholes, Carrick, even me sometimes. Don’t listen to it.’
“I replied, ‘Why not?’
“He said, ‘Because the moment you start trying to become someone else, you stop becoming the player you’re supposed to be.’
“Then he said something that really caught me.
“‘You’re playing for Manchester United at a time when everyone is desperate for the next superstar. Don’t rush to become one. Just become the player your team needs.’
“I asked him, ‘What would you do if you were me?’
“He replied, ‘Ask for the ball when everyone else is hiding.’
“That message stayed with me.
“And then he finished with, ‘One more thing, Kobbie. If you ever score a goal that wins a big game at Old Trafford, don’t celebrate like you’ve made it.’
“‘Celebrate like you’ve just started.’
“I screenshotted that message.
“Because when someone like David Beckham talks to you about Manchester United, you listen.”
Unless you are into your 30's you will have no recollection of how good Roy Keane was.
If you are not old enough to remember him think of a much better version of Rodri with the engine of a prime Kante.
Even that doesn't do Keano justice.
Tom Holland says he made the biggest mistake by becoming a Tottenham fan
“My brother Harry was the first person to pick a club to support.”
“He didn’t want to support Chelsea, Arsenal, or United because he didn’t want to be a glory hunter.”
“When my brother Sam said he’d support Tottenham too, Harry told him, ‘Don’t do it! Pick another club.’”
“Sam picked Arsenal instead, and Paddy followed.”
“I couldn’t leave Harry on his own, so I picked Tottenham.”
“It’s probably one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made.”
