"Egal" is a word that is being used quite frequently in German. Even being a native speaker, I didn't realise how much everyone around me used it until I wrote this piece for @TheLocalGermany. It was a really fun #WordOfTheDay to write and I hope you all enjoy it!
Hanover sometimes has the reputation of being a bit dull. Festivals like this prove the opposite. Having lived in Hanover most of my life, I am glad that I got the chance to write about one of my favourite festivals here: The "blue miracle."

Hi Izzy, thanks for this reply! I was also surprised to find that I got these feelings - one could think Sweden and Germany are very much alike, but there are more differences than I thought!
I went to Sweden for only three months, but still experienced some sort of a "reverse culture shock" when I went back to Germany. For @TheLocalSweden, I put together a rather personal article about the ten things I miss the most. Spoiler: Cinnamon Buns are on the list.
Here's another #WordoftheDay, which has been an absolute pleasure to write. "Duzen" is always quite a struggle in Germany (even as a native speaker) and it was quite fun to look at "per Du" from a different angle. Enjoy and happy weekend!
