@chloesnuggle@arianightmares People have an issue with it because he’s Jewish. It’s offensive because it’s using a stereotype that historically has been used to dehumanise and mock Jews.
@EricMorris99477@MamaSchwab In your eyes, 6 million innocent people, including children deserved to die? Simply because they weren’t blue eyed, blonde, Christians? If you really think that, you’re a disgusting person.
@LynnBraben I also don’t love the implication that Jews are somehow, the bad guys for being viewed as “victors” and that it’s somehow sinister. There was nothing “victorious” about it. 6 million of us died.
@LynnBraben I don’t live in blissful anything. The bbc memorial programme featured multiple minorities, including a segment on the Bosnian war. Whether you like it or not, yesterday was pretty significant due to it being 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz.
@flashncocky It has nothing to do with Palestine, that’s why. It’s a Memorial Day, that has nothing to do with Isreal. This stinks of antisemitism. It’s the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Nobody is obligated to mention Palestine, today. Let people mourn in peace.
@Chasmanthium@BBCNews Because it’s the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. It’s nothing to do with Palestine, and nobody has any obligation to mention Palestine, especially because today has nothing to do with them. It’s a day of mourning for Jews and anyone else who was affected by it.
@Scm198 It was to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. It had fuck all to do with Palestine, believe it or not, not everything is a slight against Palestine. It’s a day of mourning for Jewish people, and any one else who was affected by the Holocaust.
Stonewall is the main LGBTQ civil rights organisation in the country.
That there's a systematic attempt to monster and destroy it when homophobic hate crimes have trebled and transphobic hate crimes have quadrupled represents a grave threat to LGBTQ people.
You also commit male violence when you cheer on Ronaldo, laugh off a lewd message in the group chat or ignore the fact your mate behaves like a creep in the bar
Complicity is a violent act. You hold up the patriarchy every time you don’t actively challenge the “small” things
As sad as it is, most of us are used to being sexually harassed in the street but what will always shock me is that a man can violate you in a public place and everyone around will just mind their business. A man will threaten your life, grope you etc etc and nobody blinks
If you’re arguing that people should be able to resist arrest if they feel threatened you are arguing for a radical dismantling of police power, in which case welcome comrade
