🚨 For the 3rd time in 7 months, Netanyahu has entered Canadian airspace en route to the United States.

As a signatory to the Rome Statute, Canada is obliged to enforce the ICC arrest warrants against Netanyahu. Instead, @MarkJCarney is allowing him to circumvent justice and avoid any consequences for his war crimes and crimes against humanity.

According to protocol, foreign state flights must seek permission before entering Canadian airspace, which should be submitted at least 72 hours in advance.

Upton Sinclair is also responsible for something else that passes without notice in our lives: the way we use shirt collars to talk about class.

About fifteen years after publishing The Jungle, Sinclair wrote "The Brass Check," which was a muckraking expose on American newsrooms. In it, he described the office clerks upstairs as wearing white collar dress shirts, while the people in the mailroom below as wearing blue collar button-ups. This taxonomic shorthand — white collar vs blue collar — would become a popular way for writers to sidestep the uncomfortable discussion of class throughout the 20th century.

Sinclair suggested that the ability to wear a white dress shirt allowed office clerks and middle managers to see themselves as socially distinct from laborers, even if they shared similar interests. An excerpt:

"It is a fact with which every union workingman is familiar, that his most bitter despisers are the petty underlings of the business world, the poor office-clerks, who are often the worst exploited of proletarians, but who, because they are allowed to wear a white collar and to work in the office with the boss, regard themselves as members of the capitalist class."

Of course, there were other dynamics at the time, such as race, but this taxonomic device (white collar, blue collar) continues to be popular today, especially in a post-industrial economy.

Deputy interior minister says 'This is Thailand' after alleged 'Israeli territory' remark at Phuket Chabad House

Deputy Interior Minister Phonphir Suwannachawi said he responded "This is Thailand" after a Jewish man at the Patong Chabad House allegedly told officials the premises were "Israeli territory" during an inspection on July 22.

The Chabad House, operated by Rabbi Sholom Dovber Glitzenstein under the Chabad of Thailand Foundation, has previously been inspected following complaints from local businesses and social media allegations linking the site to Israeli business networks. Authorities have repeatedly said the center is free to conduct religious activities but must comply with Thai law and cannot be used to facilitate illegal commercial operations.

The latest inspection was part of a multi-agency crackdown on suspected nominee shareholding, illegal foreign business operations and unlicensed hotels. The Interior Ministry later expanded the investigation to 361 businesses across Phuket, including hotels, luxury villas, restaurants and tour companies suspected of concealing foreign ownership through Thai nominees or operating illegally.
