Most people in the UK have low vitamin D, because there’s so little sun. That’s why it’s prescribed on the NHS here, for pregnant women, and women who wear the burka. But Vit D supplements, even those prescribed by GPs, have very poor absorption rates, compared to sunlight. Which is why women shouldn’t cover up here. Wrong cultural rules.
If your Vit D levels are okay, it’s either because you don’t live here, or because you don’t wear a burka. In which case, I doubt you choose to wear one on holiday.
But have you actually spoken to any muslim women about whether it’s their choice? If not, who are you to tell women they’re probably okay with it. A) because you’re a man. And B) because your opinion doesn’t count.
@jo_bartosch Looks like the ones we used to receive from crazies when I worked in the complaints department of the civil service. They were always closely handwritten with letters of varying sizes and angles, random words in capitals, and have absolutely nothing to do with the civil service.
If you or I, or anyone, gave a kid a "clip round the ear" like that in public, we would be arrested, and tried for child abuse. Hitting a child on the head is illegal, in all circumstances, even if the kid is a little shit. Adjust your idea of what is acceptable discipline for children. Times have changed.
@KittraKittra@BROKENBRITAIN0 Hard enough to knock him over. I dread to think how you discipline your own children, if you think that's "only swatting".
@paulpowlesland@EnvAgency Could you use the legal argument Greenpeace used to use when breaking the law to prevent large organisations from continuing damaging the environment - that it is legal to commit a crime if it is to prevent a greater crime being committed?
@peterboghossian He refused to apologise to the women he caused harm to, through supporting trans ideology in his role as a cabinet minister. We owe him no forgiveness.
@TheseTimes2025@jk_rowling Strangely enough, we’re still here, still up the front getting shat on, while men like you do nothing. They call us Terfs, instead of feminists now, you know?
@wmertens@jk_rowling Yawn - come on, this argument is so old, it’s mouldy. In homes, you don’t have to get undressed next to strangers. And something did happen to the girl - she was terrified and traumatised. Do you only start caring if a 13 year old girl has been raped, or is torture enough?
That's a silly thing to say. This Pride march is taking place in the UK, where we don't have the same religious or political biases about abortion. There is no link between people's politics and their views on abortion in this country. It is a highly personal and private choice. And seeing as most of the people on a Pride march are gay, it is very unlikely that many of them will ever have to consider their beliefs on the subject at all!
To all those men who think it’s wholesome advice from a perfectly innocent man, here’s the advice I gave my son when he was little. If a strange mummy talks to you, it’s okay. If a strange man tries to talk to you, run or scream. No good daddy would ever try to speak to someone else’s child without their parent there.
@DEXOneVP@KAHALA123Y Except that her friend didn't hesitate in her answers, and still got sent to secondary. More likely that the member of security staff was stupid, and didn't understand the answers.
