@taterraisinaden 2 out of 3 forecasts I looked at said 30% one said 60% chance of showers but they all look good the end of next week ffs as if they know. Law of average says mow so we did!
Anybody out there in twitter land using the SKOV controller from secco it has been nothing but trouble for us since we installed it and they don’t seem to know how to fix it
@kitching_jay Yes they are we went with balloon curtains around the robot area for a little extra insulation value have yet to need it this winter +12 today
@Royridgefarm Orange indicates she is a dump cow the other colors show the stage of milking solid orange is good flow green is attached and grey is done I think, I was in the house and just happened to check my phone and seen she was in the box. Still lots to learn
Can't get over how quick the cows catch on, 869 freshened this afternoon, we milked her at 4 put her on the new pack and she has already found her way back by 11.
Milked for the last time in the parlor today, a few cows needed to be dried off so it was easier to dry them off here than in the robots. 42 years with a few changes along the way.
Put the cows through Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning, made sure all things were good at milk pickup then switched the sort gate to auto and let them roll, by supper they were coming on their own, its just the start but don't think it could have began any smoother.
@Royridgefarm A friend beds with sand, similar type of setup but has a gutter cat I can't rember if that was his original plan or added on after. I'll check with him and find out.
@Royridgefarm What is your distance from the barn to the pit and what do you bed with? I would be inclined to build it so it would accommodate a gutter cat or something similar later if it didn't flow properly.
