Another phone hack:
When buying a used iPhone or Android, make sure to confirm that the phone isn’t blacklisted or reported stolen.
All you need is the IMEI number.
Dial *#06# to display it and copy it somewhere.
Then go to a trusted IMEI checker website and run a scan.
If the result says “Clean,” you’re good to go.
But if it says “Blacklisted,” that phone may have been reported stolen, lost, or have unpaid carrier bills from the previous owner. And that can land you in serious problems later.
Some people buy cheap phones today and end up unable to use SIM cards tomorrow.

RED FLAGS to look out for when purchasing a Nigerian used vehicle.
Check the vin plate on the driver’s side dashboard through the windshield and the door jamb sticker must match the chassis number stamped on the engine firewall or under the passenger seat. If they don't match the vehicle was cloned or stolen.
Never accept photocopies of the Proof of Ownership or Allocation of Number Plate documents. If the name on the papers doesn't match the seller's government ID, walk away unless they have a legally binding, signed power of attorney.
If a car has clearly been driven in Nigeria for years but suddenly spots a brand new freshly issued number plate and pristine documents with zero history of previous owners, be careful. The car's identity may have been wiped to cover up a theft or the owner is dubious.
If the dealer insists you must close the deal immediately or refuses to let you bring your own mechanic diagnostic specialist to inspect the car at a neutral location walk away. A legit seller has nothing to hide.
This is how to identify stolen vehicles through official channels before making purchase (part one)...
Before you pay, do these 3 verification steps:
Log onto the Nigeria Police Central Motor Registry (CMRIS) portal to request a vehicle status report. If the car has been officially reported stolen, it flags here and a contact inside the force helps speed up.
If the car has been registered in Nigeria before, the Federal Road Safety Corps has the data. Use the Chassis Number (VIN) & last owner's name to check. A contact in the FRSC can quickly pull the system backend to verify it's legit.
Forged customs papers are everywhere most of the time it doesn't match the vehicle you want to purchase. Take the Single Goods Declaration (SGD) form to the nearest Customs Federal Operations Unit (FOU). Check if the duty was genuinely paid and if the VIN matches their system. The best thing you can do is to have someone on the inside to fast track it within minutes.
Bottom line is always leverage trusted insiders to run these background checks before handing over your hard earned money.
Your Android says storage full. You delete everything. Still full.
It is not your photos. Android has been quietly hiding gigabytes of junk you never see.
23GB cleared yesterday without deleting a single thing that mattered.
Here is where it is hiding:
Buying a used laptop is riskier than buying a cell phone, as many of its components are hidden. Don’t be tempted by a sleek body or the Core i7 sticker.
Here’s how to check a used laptop during COD (cash on delivery) to ensure you get a safer unit:
