MY TAKE: VVIPs served SIR notices isn’t the story: Don’t worry, they’ll all find their way back onto the electoral rolls. But what about the lakhs of poor and marginalised who are being left out without the means to fight the system? Repeat: @ECISVEEP and the SC have much to answer for when a process shifts the burden of proof from the state to the citizen. A right as fundamental as the vote cannot become a privilege granted by the ‘system’.
