The concert of the year in limbo: National Sports Institute doesn't authorize the National Stadium for the #BTS show

— Negotiations have been ongoing for weeks between the Ministry of Sport, specifically the National Sports Institute (IND), and the production company DG Medios. The reason? The reservation of the National Stadium for the BTS concert on October 14, 16, and 17.

— Although ticket sales began in April, and tickets have already sold out, the National Sports Institute had not yet finalized the deal — worth approximately one billion pesos, which goes directly to the Treasury— for the National Stadium to host the concert. The delay was mainly due to the technical requirements of the Korean band's performance: it's a 360º show, meaning the stage is in the center of the field and there are walkways for the artists to move around.

— According to sources connected to the BTS event organizers, setting up the stage would take approximately nine days, and the impact on the field could cause damage that would disrupt sporting events at the National Stadium, such as a Chilean National Team match, Universidad de Chile's matches in the National Championship, and even the Telethon (due to setup and dismantling).

— For this reason, the Ministry of Sport, through the National Sports Institute (IND), decided not to authorize the event at the National Stadium. According to The Clinic, Minister Natalia Duco considered the preservation of the field essential and required certain guarantees that were not provided.
