@amimevalepitito @cristinavanko Yeah I agree that any demand on a dating app is a turnoff, even if I can empathize with where it’s coming from. Apps are a delicate game… gotta assume good intent (when reasonable) and cut things short when expectations aren’t met. Simple. Making demands just starts negative.

@amimevalepitito @cristinavanko Ah I see what you mean. I guess some people like dinner for a first date 🤷🏽‍♀️ I would interpret it as looking for a partner who is proactive. So reading between the lines, I’d do something proactive but more in my comfort zone :) Same effect.

Care to taste-test with me Saturday afternoon?” Or “Since you like jazz, let’s do free concert at the park this weekend? I’ll bring drinks!”

@MegZeenat We rely on others to make us happy on our birthdays. I suspect it’s a learned behavior bc of parties etc thrown *for* us when we’re kids. We could tweak that so kids learn to celebrate themselves in smaller ways and give back more.
