Curtis Sliwa agrees with Mamdani, says the British royals should return the diamond:
“The royalty, they're a bunch of deadbeats, slackers, the worst welfare cheats in the world,” Sliwa says.
I can’t get over this story. The CEO of Air Canada is leaving his job not because of the crash that killed two pilots but because he…didn’t film his condolences in French. A perfect encapsulation of how we’re living in Veep, 10/10, no notes.
You weren’t put on this earth to obey the orders, wage the wars and fill the coffers of gangs that call themselves ‘governments’ and see you as livestock.
Fuck ICE
Anyone who is calling for similar deportations here in Canada need to realize the blood that would be on their hands.
There are better ways to deal with our issues.
"Comply and you won't get hurt."
Tell that to Daniel Shaver.
10 yrs ago today he was shot in a hotel hallway, fully complying, following every command, begging for his life.
The cop who killed him faced no consequences & walked away with a $31K yearly pension.
@liberal_party This Liberal government almost immediately used it's power to break strikes (ex. Air Canada).
You cannot claim to support workers while simultaneously cutting their legs from under them.
Leave the government out of the marketplace.
Beware of Nationalism, no matter where politically it is coming from.
Nationalism will sacrifice anything, especially you and your neighbour's individual rights for the sake of the desires of whatever "strong men" that rule.
It is Authoritarianism all the same.
@TomlinsonCJ@LibertarianCDN Against aggressors, regardless of religion or anything else. The Catholic Church and its representatives, who have committed acts of aggression and oppression countless times over, are not an exception.
The tragedy that was the Residential School system is a example of what happens when our government does not recognize Canadian's self ownership.
With proper protection of property rights, parental rights, and even the right to bear arms this travesty would have never happened.
It would’ve been a lot harder for government agents to separate families and force kids into residential schools if indigenous people weren’t disarmed.
The history of Canada is a lesson in not giving up your guns.
@deluracct@LibertarianCDN@LeslynLewis No, but it should be. Honestly, the U.S. constitution is weak as well. Moreover, even a strong constitution requires a society willing to defend it and demand that it be adhered to, which is also where the U.S. has fallen short.
Your Rights are inalienable.
Sections 1 & 33 of the Charter allows politicians to suspend and curtain our rights for their goals or their perceived "greater good".
We don't just need to limit the use of the notwithstanding clause, we need to abolish it from the constitution.
Attorney General Pam Bondi: "There's free speech and then there's hate speech, and there is no place, especially now, especially after what happened to Charlie, in our society...We will absolutely target you, go after you, if you are targeting anyone with hate speech."
@LPNational The Libertarian Party does not oppose unions.
We oppose compulsory unions.
But unionization at its base is simply the freedom of association at work. There's nothing anti-libertarian about collective bargaining in and of itself.
Whether you're black or white, gay or straight, trans or gender-conforming - gun rights (and all rights) are for everyone.
Libertarians support all of your freedoms, all of the time.
