@wolverinebruise@C64Reloaded I disagree. It’s got one of Rob Hubbard’s finest soundtracks and I agree the game is very hard, but it did have that one more go factor.
@Georges_Channel @RMCRetro Well, it’s a fantastic achievement all the same. I’m not well informed about the plus/4 scene and whether there are other great modern ports but much as I love XZap, BigMac and Olympic Skier etc it would seem to me that this is a real benchmark for can be achieved on the system.
@Georges_Channel @RMCRetro I remember this being one of the best racers for the C64 with superb music. It shone with a disk drive.
So, could this be what Chase HQ is for the Spectrum? Not just the best racer on the platform - but the best game on the system! Simply an amazing achievement on the humble +4!
#10pScore.
Anyone know the minimum Mame version for this game? I’m have an older version 0.178 and it’s not supported unless I use the clone Rom ‘aligatorun’ (copro not ready. Game loads eventually, but there is nothing to shoot). Anyone using this Rom? Thanks.
@EvilDragon1717 Hello EvilDragon. Many years ago I purchased a Pandora and it’s still all ok. I boot it from time to time and all is well. Curious to know what you thought of this:

It has more than a passing similarity to the Pandora/Pyra.
All the best,

My word, what is this bang average 16bit platformer doing anywhere near an arcade? It’s certainly ‘poop’ alright putting it mildly. Forced myself to play. Those lazy, crap quality, looping samples for music ahhh.. reminded me of the equally shi* SuperTrio! Next
#10pScore. 165,720. Not a bad little shooter in the Plus Alpha style, but not as good and a bit bland imo. Had a lucky game a couple of weeks ago (need the fish shield), but couldn’t replicate. Never really felt comfortable with the firing mechanic and the game began to irritate
#archivescore. 166500. I’ve persevered, but I can’t find the groove on this one. I prefer it over Defender, but on the shoot’em up spectrum it’s a little too far towards the Williams mould for me. Still, it deserves its place in the pantheon of quality vertical shooters.
@r_rygar Hats off to you both. It took me a several days to even get to the final stage, but I can see with more practice (and a lot of patience) it would possible to get there. I was worn out getting to 8.4 million, so that’s it for now. 😄
Just imagine trying to finish Expert….😂
#10pScore. 8487580. Surprised to find I really enjoyed this one. Using a standard digital stick and two buttons, I gave it a flippin’ good go but couldn’t quite reach the finishing line. So little room for error by the end. Well done if managed it.
@skyway_73 Well done. I’ve made it to level 5, but no further yet. I presume you got into the ‘zone’? It’s surprising how good the game is when using a non-analogue stick and two/three buttons. It’s surprising how good the Amiga version compares when all you had was a stick and one button!
@wisemidds Wow. Those scores seem to ramp up after level 4 then. I’m at the very end of level 3 and only reaching 3.7mil. Very risk and reward with the turbo. #10pScore.
