here’s a pretty random coincidence:

the iPhone had the wide notch for four generations (iPhone X – iPhone 12) and then it had the smaller notch for one generation (iPhone 13) and a totally new design after that (Dynamic Island on the 14 Pro)

according to the leaks, the iPhone 18 Pro will have a smaller Dynamic Island, and the iPhone 20 won’t have a cutout at all, meaning the same pattern’s repeating again:

the Dynamic Island stays for four years (iPhone 14 Pro – 17 Pro), gets smaller next year, and then we’ll get a totally new design the year after that
