@ionuttarcea@TomoMinoda Thanks! I was freaking out a bit at the time I wrote that, but it turned out nicely in the end. Wonderful experience! Back in Londom now ;)
I had to work so far and that limited me a bit. But I must say I was never as unsure how to plan sightseeing as I am in Tokyo. I am too afraid to make choices. The general "get lost and explore" doesn't work because it's not some regular European city I can come back to.
Kyoto was a fairy tale, an oasis of green parks and temples and shrines. And I am happy I allowed myself to be convinced to take the trip. Shinkansen is off the bucket list, too! My faves were Ginkanku-ji temple and Chion-in temple (last picture)
Tokyo was a bit of a shock to me, different from what I had imagined. Also, I had no clear sightseeing goals. So it took me a while to love it. My favourites were Yoyogi Park on a Sunday, Asakusa at night, Shimkitazawa quarter (pictured) and the Meiji Shrine.
Also, I want take a one or two day trip for next weekend. I have thought abt this since my arrival and still could not decide between Kyoto, Kamakura, Nikko..... I guess the pressure of having to make the most of the trip freezes my decision making abilities.
