AI won't give any edge, only remove edges from the market. I recommend understanding the difference. The edge is in simple, often manual models, and its source is discipline and risk management. For most of those edges, you only need a calculator, some can do it with an abacus.
Heads: you win $125. Tails: you lose $100.
The reason they rejected it was not risk aversion. It was "crook or fool aversion". Only a crook who has something evil in mind, or a fool, would offer a deal where he loses money on average.
If you think a low % of traders can follow strats, actually, it' lower. Most traders cannot coexist with the reality that strats have drawdown periods. They quit immediately after a small drawdown even if the strat had a good run. They never realize the long term expectation.
🧵I was busy with machine learning today, although some people call it AI now. Alright then, I was busy with AI today for $SPY long-short trading EOD. First, the features chart. The DLPAL LS software generates and updates the features daily. 1/n

Drawdown time for systematic. The drawdowns are inevitable and lead to rotations, it's how markets work. The key is to: (a) have enough cushion to absorb a drawdown, and (b) have enough diversification to limit the drawdown.

It seems to me that China is libertarian for small entities, w/near complete laissez faire, compared to, say, Italy or France, where the small is overregulated and the large able to play the system. China's state control applies to large entities.
CORRECT?
@priceactionlab@hughesanalytics I remember you and Alex discussing that one way to deal with changing market conditions is to build adaptive strategies from the start. For simple strategies, is continuously replacing deteriorating strategies with new ones a valid form of adaptation?
I think long term trend followers should certainly worry about fundamentals mostly because they are win rate limited already by the strategy. It just rarely helps with timing. Perhaps psychologically it helps to hold through difficult times.
