It is with a deep sense of loss and sadness that we mourn the passing of our friend and colleague; former NBA player and executive Lance Blanks who passed away on Wednesday, May 3 in Dallas, Texas.

For the last 15 years he has worked with us to grow NBA Africa and launch the BAL. Among many other roes Lance led the on air commentary team during the historic inaugural season in 2021 and spent many years coaching and mentoring at Basketball Without Borders in Africa.

A devoted father to two daughters, a grandfather, a son, a colleague a friend and a brother. Lance, your legacy will live on in all of us.
