TERRITORIES CHANGE WHEN INTERCESSORS RISE

One of the highest expressions of honour in the Kingdom is intercession; standing in the gap in prayer on behalf of others. Intercession goes beyond praying for yourself; it is lifting individuals, families, businesses, cities, and territories before God.

The ministry of intercession is powerful. Prayer does not just affect individuals; it also shapes spiritual climates. The atmosphere over cities, nations, and territories is sustained or altered by intercessors and watchmen who understand strategic prayer and know how to contend at the altar.

Daniel was one man in Babylon, a corrupt system, yet through prayer, he restrained territorial powers. When stability prevailed, a law was passed, targeted at one man. Just thirty days of prayerlessness was all hell needed to attempt national chaos.

But Daniel chose prayer over compromise. He opened his window toward Jerusalem and prayed, aligning himself with the covenant. His only offence was prayer. Thrown into the lion’s den, God sent His angel. The lions were hungry, but prohibited. Prayer turned the pit into a place of victory. Even the king knew Daniel would pray in the pit. And Daniel answered from the den, “My God has sent His angel and delivered me.”

Standing on this soil of the UK, we decree the rise of prophetic intercessors; watchmen who understand the mysteries of the altar. As we prepare for what God will do, we must pray, soak the atmosphere, and clear every demonic residue over our territories.

HOW SATAN TRAPS A TERRITORY—AND HOW INTERCESSORS CAN STOP HIM

Do you know how Satan traps a territory? The way he oppresses an individual is different from how he oppresses a territory. When Satan targets a territory, he does not attack one person at a time; he releases a covering cast. Scripture calls it the blinding of minds.

He blinds leaders, systems, and structures. Suddenly, people begin to act in ways that betray education, logic, and even the basic dignity of human living. What you see is not normal behavior; it is the influence of dark spirits.

This is why you find people committing acts of violence that even shock them afterward. It is not merely a medical or psychological issue. There are spiritual forces at work. The Bible says the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, and he often works through the hands of men.

If Believers do not pray, darkness will continue unchecked. Prayer functions like spiritual airspace control. Just as an aircraft cannot land without authorization, demonic spirits cannot freely operate where intercessors have raised the incense of prayer.

You don’t have to be in government to be in power. Daniel understood this long before he was exalted. He ruled in the spirit before he ruled in position. As spirits are assigned to territories, cities, nations, and regions, intercessors must rise and declare:

“Access not granted. Thus far you have come, and no further.” Not my life, not my home. Not my destiny, not my children. Not my spouse, not my business.

We have a responsibility to build a prayer bulwark, to garrison our lives, families, ministries, and territories. Like Nehemiah, we build the wall in the spirit. We will pray, we will contend, we will stand as watchmen.

WHY MANY BELIEVERS STRUGGLE WITH PRAYER

One of the major reasons Believers struggle in the place of prayer is not a lack of zeal, but because they lack understanding.

If you are told to sit in a place without a reason, you may obey, but frustration will follow because you lack context. But when you are told why you must stay, when understanding is supplied, you receive staying power. Even when the body is tired, understanding fuels endurance.

This is why many Believers are inconsistent in prayer. They were not taught the value of prayer; they were guilt-tripped into it. “If you don’t pray, you’re not serious.” “If you don’t pray, you’ll be defeated.” People pray for a while out of guilt, then return to inconsistency.

The correct approach is to help Believers understand what truly happens when they pray; the value, the treasure, and the spiritual riches embedded in a consistent prayer life. When understanding comes, Believers will pray by themselves, not by pressure.

If the value of prayer is not understood, the faith life can appear burdensome, even cruel. But that is not who God is. Everything about prayer is for the profit of the Believer. God is self-existent. He does not need prayer to survive. He does not sleep or slumber. We are the ones who need prayer for life, strength, alignment, and victory.
