@choochoobear They're an endlessly spawning quest system. Best advice I've found is to work a quest until it wants to be turned in - then don't. After a while, it'll auto complete, but without going back to Preston for more. Alternately, take 2-3 and don't progress, you'll stop getting more.

@jpalmiotti The big two could stand to do this every decade or so IMO. You're describing Marvel's Ultimate line, basically - and that impacted basically every facet of comics media we know today. It was a massive influence on the MCU as well as almost every other movie or series made since.

Euthanasia is legal in ten states & DC in the US.

Meaning societally, we increasingly accept the conclusion that ending one's own life can be a rational decision.

So anybody that says "only mentally ill people self-immolate, it's not a valid form of protest" can fuck right off.

Scrambling, I desperately hunted for another way out, but judges blocked the way at every turn.

"Hiding information and deceiving your opponents is part of the game-!"

"Yeah, yeah, and Richard Garfield created instants, combat tricks, counterspells… I've heard it all before."

The head judge stepped forward slowly, a cold smile on her lips as her Fair Play Bat smacked into her palm.

"We know how to handle lying scum like you around here. Boys… get the islands."

I should have gone with Morophon. Everybody uses Morophon to play goofy tribal decks, nobody gives them a second glance. But as soon as I played Jegantha, I could feel the table mood shift. First turn, one of my opponents smirked, asking what color my Birds were tapping for.

"AAAAACOUNTERSPELLAAAAA!!!"

Immediately, I bolted from the table, cards flying. Accusing fingers followed me as I ran, row after row of players watching in horror. As I squeezed out of my row and into the main aisle, my heart sank as I looked to the doors -

-and saw the judges.

It felt like someone else reached into my hand, but it was my voice that echoed through the hall.

"I can play Pact of Negation."

Instantly, silence fell upon the game - and beyond. Heads snapped towards us, wide eyed staring, an entire room frozen.

Until Jen started to scream.

I was going to win the normal way. I was. My board was huge, my creatures unrivaled by anyone else. And then...

The Wrath. That damn Wrath, and the smile on Jen's face as she slowly set it on the table.

"Aww, sorry, Lexi. What can you do, huh?"

I shouldn't have taken the bait.

I laughed them off, and all the cracks that came after.

"Hope nobody's got a Lightning Bolt!"

"Okay, that's my blocks - they trade, unless you've got a Giant Growth!"

Despite the comments, I kept my cool, and calmly kept building my board up with mana dorks & large stompys.

@MTGLegacyWeapon @Jamie7Keller You misrepresent and lie every time you stare meaningfully at an Island with no counterspells in hand.

Against kids, I could see an argument. Against grown adults, especially ones playing intentionally more competitive variants? Don't trust people with incentives to lie to you.
