The likes of Lamine and Cubarsí have really created a lot of impatience among fans when it comes to the development of young players. We've become so used to seeing teenagers immediately perform at an elite level that we've started treating it as the standard, when in reality, players like them are the exception.

A player not having reached his peak or not having developed as much as we'd hoped by the age of 22 is absolutely not the end of the world. Every player develops at a different pace, and in Balde's case, you also have to take into account how much injuries have interrupted his development.

That's why I think giving up on Balde at 22 feels a bit too reactionary. We might simply be judging his development against unrealistic standards created by a couple of extraordinary young players.

“7 years” when this was him in a shite banter club. We were a banter club before Flick, none of our players were good. In 2021, Messi and him were our best players. After 2021, our board started forcing him out so Xavi had to bench him in important games. Gavi and Pedri played most of the important games and we ended up in Europa. Xavi then had to start De Jong after they couldn’t get to sell him

In 2022 he became a starter and one if the best midfielders itw while playing alongside Busquets as a double pivot. In 2024, he had a great start winning man of the matches back to back until he got that tackle from Valverde. Barca then forced him to play and that costed him the Euros playing for the club

He came back after a long break in 2024-2025 season and instantly became a starter in 2025 benching Casado and was one of our best players that season playing alongside Pedri

In 2025-26 season he was our best midfielder playing as a DM and as an 8, had his best assist figures until he had to go out. Had masterclasses against New Castle that season asw. Barca fans forgot everything and chose to believe media and Catalan agendas
