The EU has started enforcing new AI transparency rules.
From August 2, companies must clearly tell people when they’re interacting with AI or when realistic images, videos, audio, or some text have been created or changed using AI.
Companies that break the rules could face fines of up to €15 million or 3% of their global annual revenue.
Some AI systems already on the market before the new rules took effect have until December 2, 2026 to meet certain labeling requirements.
