BUILDING KATSINA BEYOND 2027: POWERING A GREENER ECONOMY

Katsina State is embracing innovation today to secure a cleaner tomorrow. Sustainable energy and modern transportation are now central to our plan for economic growth, lower mobility costs and job creation.

Through Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s engagement with the Presidential Initiative on CNG and EVs, we are expanding alternative-energy transportation across the State. The collaboration will deliver CNG refuelling stations, vehicle-conversion centres, EV charging infrastructure, and a modern CNG/EV hub along the Funtua–Sokoto corridor. 500 young people will also be trained as certified CNG technicians to drive the transition.

This sits alongside ongoing transport-sector work: buses, CNG vehicle conversions and hybrid vehicles. As shown in the graphic, approvals have also been made for 3,000 electric motorcycles for rural teachers and 1,500 electric tricycles to improve mobility and stimulate economic activity in our communities.

The vision is clear: reduce transportation costs, create skilled jobs, improve mobility, encourage cleaner energy, and open new economic opportunities for the people of Katsina.

This is Building Katsina Beyond 2027 — a greener Katsina, a stronger economy, and a better future for all.

BUILDING KATSINA BEYOND 2027: POWERING COMMUNITIES, LIGHTING THE FUTURE

Katsina State under the leadership of Governor @dikko_radda is extending clean energy to communities with 94 units of 80W solar lights across facilities in 19 LGAs, allocated by scale and need.

The lights will serve primary healthcare centres, hospitals and schools, improving safety, visibility and access to essential services after dark.

This is a practical investment in renewable energy and stronger public services at the grassroots.
